Chapter 43 - Chapter 043: Tourism

At the airport of Kiev-Boryspil in Ukraine, you could see people coming and going in the big hall, some with big luggages and some with just a backpack or other small baggage of the same kind. You could see different skin colors around, even if there were more that were white and the hair styles were even more diverse, with a few among them being quite outrageous. But so long as their owners were feeling good about it, nothing else mattered.

There was quite the traffic even if, unfortunately, compared to how it was more than a decade ago when at some point there have been almost ten million people who went through this transit point, it was now looking like an anemic patient. But it was normal given how chaotic and unsafe the region had been for a few years already.

You never knew when and where the next ticket for hell would fall, so why come here instead of going elsewhere for vacation, for business or to hide? Thankfully, it was not Paris in the second world war so there were still people willing to come.

At the custom, before one of the cubicles was a couple, signifying that they were arriving on this land. They were quite attention grabbing and while it was not to the point of provoking accidents, they were quite attractive.

The man was bronze skinned with dark hair that had been cut stylishly. He was tall, neither skinny nor buff but rather fit in a way that would make any man jealous. He didn't have a surreally handsome face, but what he did have was enough to ease the difficulty in seducing most women.

And while the man was dressed simply in suit without tie and a shirt with the last two buttons opened above dark leather shoes, his partner, on his left, while also simply dressed, was attracting more eyes. What with her dark eyes contrasting with fair skin and her reddish orange hair that ended on her chest.

Indeed, she had her hair brushed to her left in front of her chest that, like the rest of her curves, were not exaggerated but balanced in an enticing way, freeing her right side that had the men stomping their feet given that it was mostly hidden by the man at her side. Still, the jade earring she had on her right ear to accentuate her skin's beauty remained striking as she wore a dark red body hugging sleeveless dress that ended just above her knees.

The dress had black lines crossing on the red background with equally dark borders for the shoulders and the collar. Its front was making focusing on his job difficult for the custom officer given the plunging cleavage that was quite a tease with the fine dark fishnet covering it and the illusory white that faked some appearances depending on the angle.

A sudden chill startled the said officer as he turned his head to see the man smiling at him. The latter had his dark glasses removed and was pushing his passport forward.

*Cough*"Mr. D'asilva Gousfro?"

"That would be me."

"Can I know the reason for your presence here?"

"Tourism. This is one of the stops my wife and I decided on for our honeymoon."

As the man said that, he looked with a smile at the woman who was only a few centimeters shorter thanks to her red soled shining high-heels. The latter softly smiled back and put her left hand on the desk as if to exhibit the exquisite diamond ring on her finger.

The officer now more professional, looked at the second passport, the woman's:

"Mrs. D'asilva Xing?"

"Yes."

At the soft reply, the custom officer compared the photos to the people before him, lingering a bit more on the woman, before checking the places that should be checked. Seeing everything in order, he took his stamp and used it to mark the two passport as he said less indifferently than when it had been others people's turn:

"Welcome to Ukraine. I hope you enjoy your stay."

"Thanks." × 2

The man took back their documents, pulled their only luggage with one hand while the other one, the left, was put on his wife's waist.

Less than an hour later, the couple could be seen getting out of a rented SUV before a luxurious hotel in Kiev, the capital city of Ukraine that was about thirty kilometers west of the airport. Once inside their suite room, one of the best in the hotel, they closed the door before starting to check everything as if they were looking for something.

While they were at it, they were talking about their wedding, the interesting places they could visit after Kiev, and other mundane things a married couple could talk about while laughing and seeming full of love. Meanwhile, they went as far as taking some things apart like the lamps, the electronics, the ventilation ducts…

After almost an hour of sweaty work, they looked at each other before stopping talking. They put everything back together and in their place.

The man suddenly sighed:

*Sigh*"On the screen, those spy missions look cool, interesting and all but only by doing it yourself would you know how tiring the needed cautiousness is."

"Aren't you a superhuman now, you could just brute force your way through and accomplish the objective."

The woman answered in a calm but beautiful voice that was less sweet than before as she pulled off her reddish orange wig to reveal her dark hair.

"I have the impression that you are calling me a brainless brute."

The man answered before going to the bathroom.

"It's just an impression."

He rolled his eyes at that before looking into the mirror:

"I hope that my superhuman hair will survive the chemicals used to change the color."

His female companion ignored him for a more important question:

"What is the plan, Lucas?"

Lucas came back from the bathroom and saw the woman put some of her clothes on the big bed. Raising an eyebrow, he commented:

"Estrella, I don't mind if you want to sleep in the same bed as me but know that I'm not letting you have this one."

Estrella stopped what she was doing.

"Is there a particular reason?"

"This is the main room and this bed is bigger."

Looking at Lucas expression, she asked:

"Just for that?"

"Yes."

Not wanting to fall into a childish game, Estrella took her things to the adjacent room before coming back. She asked indifferently:

"You didn't answer my previous question. What's the plan?"

"The plan? We said we are here for tourism so we will tour the city and see its famous sights. After all, who knows when we will have the opportunity to come back here?"

"I thought you would be in a hurry."

"No. The information I want will help me prepare for the changes that will come, but from what I have experienced, there is still time so why not enjoy the things along the way when I can?"

"And at the same time show your friend that what you want from him is not that valuable for you to be impatient."

Lucas smiled:

"That too."

Estrella turned around to go to the room where she put her things:

"I'm going to change my clothes."

'She didn't take the ring off. A sign, an expectation or she just didn't care?'

Lucas thoughtfully smiled before getting up to look for more relaxed clothes to put on.
