Lucas finished his words, and he took a step forward, flashing away only to reappear on the other side of the floor.
Erick looked at the back in the distance, and coughed out blood, both out of the loss of the stabilizing force in his body, and his spiking emotions that spiked further.
But neither Lucas nor Estrella paid him any attention. As Lucas stopped before the tactile screen displaying a lock that Erick had failed to fumble his way through, he let out an exhale, as if to relax his tightly wound body. The lightning flickers flashing over the surface of his body froze, before receding, as deeper in his body, his blood slowed down.
Lucas' heart suddenly suddenly missed a beat, before returning to a calmer pace, like an engine shifting gear. By then, the exchange between the coldness in his flesh and the heat in his bones turned tame, as it had always been with a cushion between them. Balance was restored, as Lucas' body returned to normal.
