Emmy stared at his system screen for a while waiting for a message to pop up but it didn't, the referee has already blew his whistle signaling for the match to begin but Emmy stood still staring into the air blankly and he was supposed to make the kick off pass.
'Damn, why am I not getting any quest, the match have started already. Huh wait, the match.'
Realizing that he hadn't moved after the referee blew his whistle, he quickly close his system screen and kick the ball back.
Today is the day the deciding matches are taking place, half of the participating teams would qualify to the quarter final of the tournament while half of them would be eliminated. Few matches have already taken place today and thus, some teams have already been eliminated, the match between Stark FC and United Squad is finally taking place, the result will determine the fate of both teams in the tournament.
Emmy has been expecting a quest message to pop up as the referee blew his whistle but nothing of sort happened, he was a bit disappointed. He thought maybe it's because their opponent are weak but Emmy doubted that.
The only thing he noticed on the quest plane is on the tournament quest.

A tiny green line could be seen on the empty bar under the quest, it seems he's making some progress.

Passing the ball back to Barry, Emmy retreated to receive the ball back then pass it to Kai. Their opponent charged forward with dangerous flame burning in the depth of their eyes, they're ready to do whatever it takes to win the match while United Squad players seem to still preserve some coolness.
A long leg stretched towards Kai in the hope of getting the ball from him but he simply tossed it sideward towards Joe who then like a pro, moved the ball forward flawlessly. The ball was trapped between his legs as he keep moving forward, two defenders rushed out as Joe got close to the defense lane while a midfielder was already in front of him.
Without showing a hint of slowing down, he moves his legs over the ball a few times then dragged it with his left leg making the midfielder miss his attack, then he shot it forward, towards the two defenders who were already on the move.
Before the ball could get close to them, Emmy appeared out of nowhere and stopped it with his chest, then turn around to face them with the ball trapped in his leg. He calculated his moves, there are other two defenders in front of the 18 box while two were already facing him, he might not be able to go past them with his poor skills.

The commentators said with a hint of anticipation.
Joe is still behind him with the midfielders after him but Barry...
With the back of his feet, Emmy tossed the ball backward and burst off running past the two defenders, they weren't confused and nor did they run after him, instead they kept their eyes on the ball and swiftly move towards it.
But before they could get there, a blur figure moves the ball between them then shot it forward again.
Gaining the ball back, Emmy wasted no time activating 'Absolute Ball Control' skill then he turned invincible with the ball leaving everyone with their mouth opened in awe.

After stopping the ball, the defenders gave him no room to think of the next move but with the new skill active, he felt invincible. As the first defender got close to him, he did a leg over and move the ball between the defender's leg making him lose balance and fell. The second defender came forward and control the wind around the ball to blow it away, but still trapped in Emmy's leg, he did a simple snake bite move and go past the defender, now he is left alone with the keeper.
'Damn, this skill is just so fucking impressive but it only lasted five minutes.'

The skill had turned other abilities useless against the ball when trapped in Emmy's leg. He now understood the real meaning behind absolute ball control.
When the skill is active, the ball will feel like it's part of his own body, just like his leg or hand, he can do anything with it flawlessly as long as he's not limited to the thought of what to do. And this skill is just a chapter in the ability Joe possess with different skils, Emmy is jealous of the boy because he wonder the demon he would become when he manage to increase the ability to higher level.
Alone with the keeper, he didn't shoot the ball straight away, he still have about two minutes before the skill reach its limit so he simply move the ball towards the keeper who was already rushing out. With a few moves with the ball, he dribbled the keeper and get the ball past him and then.....
Goal!!!!
Cheers enveloped the stadium after scoring the first goal.

The match continue after Stark FC took the kick off pass and then their play turned fierce, they gave their opponent no chance of getting past the midfield again and at the same time trying to put pressure on them by playing fiercely. Of course, their opponent were not also sitting down and watch, they also put their all into the match turning it as fierce as possible.
The next few minutes in the first half went by the two teams not giving the other any chance but it changes in the last minute when a player from Stark FC committed a foul making the referee blow in United Squad favor giving them a free kick.
The free kick was from the midfield and it was given to Emmy.
Activating the David Beckham Cross skill, the ball was shot straight and move swiftly in a strange motion but was unable to enter the post because of the distance, but at the last seconds Barry moves like a bullet and nod the ball straight into the goalpost.
Goal!!!!
