117 wakes up in the middle of a dark room. He grabbed the rifle that was on the ground next to him, then slowly stood up and began looking around to see where he was.
He's inside what appears to be the bridge of a large ship. Most of the equipment there looked familiar to him, but for some reason, he couldn't recall what or where they came from. However, those aren't the only thing that's there. There was a smell of blood coming from somewhere inside the room.
The visor on his helmet lights up in bright red, and he is now able to see in the darkness thanks to it. The smell of blood came from in front of him, as well as the source of it.
A woman who's already dead. She is wearing a brown trench coat. There's also a hat beside her. Her right arm appears to be prosthetic. Upon closer look, there appear to be multiple gunshot wounds on her body. It seems that the cause of her death is that someone shot her.
As he noticed that, he looked around again to see who was the one who shot her.
There appears to be no one inside the room, aside from the two of them. There seems to be no indication of where the shot came from, so for the temporary conclusion, it might be him.
117 walked up to her and kneeled to look at her face. It was a familiar face who once again, he couldn't recall. Then suddenly a strong headache struck his head, along with some words from a woman's voice.
"Trooper 117... Here... Are your orders... Cough Protect... Faith... Narukami!"
After the voice was gone, the headache also stopped. 117 shook his head and once again looked at the dead woman.
Whose orders was that? Was that yours? And... Who's Faith Narukami?
Suddenly, he could hear several geared footsteps outside the room. He quickly ran towards the wall next to the door and prepared his rifle, waiting for the footsteps to get closer. At the same time, counting the number of people that were coming. There seem to be four of them.
Once they got close and entered the room, 117 pointed his rifle at them, while at the same time, they also pointed their rifles at him.
After seeing the armor that they were wearing was similar to his, he lowered his rifle, and they also did the same.
"Good to see some friendly faces"
"Yeah, almost shot you too. What's your number?"
"117. You guys?"
"I'm 553 He points to the others one by one That's 108, 309, and 421"
553 then looked at the dead woman's body.
"You did this?"
"I think so. I... Can't remember for some reason"
"Us either. We just woke up in the armory and couldn't remember a thing"
117 suddenly got the headache again.
"Hey, you ok?"
After the headache was gone, he answered "Y... Yeah... I'm fine. Anyway, we should locate the others. This is the bridge, so can anyone tap into the system?"
421 raised his hand "I'll do it"
"The floor's yours"
He then walked toward the main terminal in the middle of the room and began using it.
"Hmm, we're inside an Akadian frigate, Vessel I-14. There's some damage to both the power and defensive systems, both inside and outside. The generator room seems badly damaged, and the ship's communication systems are a mess"
"Akadian" 553 looks around "No wonder this all feels familiar. This is our ship"
Suddenly, the entire room shook. The troopers each held on to something but managed to keep their bearings and remained standing.
"What was that?"
421 checks the terminal "Looks like one of the asteroids outside just had a collision with us. We're sitting ducks unless we restore the defensive systems outside"
117 spoke up "How do we fix it?"
"I need someone to go into the generator room and look at the damages. Hopefully, we can still fix it and restore power to the outer turrets"
"Right. 553, 108, you're with me. 309, stay here with 421 and try to contact the others. Tell them to secure their respective locations and await further orders"
The three ran out of the room heading towards the generator room, entering the elevator at the end of the hallway outside the bridge. They then stood inside the elevator, waiting for the elevator to descend. There was no music or sound other than the silence and the sound of the troopers preparing their rifles for what came next.
When the elevator stops moving and arrives at the floor where they are going, the troopers ready themselves. The door opens, and two of them leave the elevator first, one checking the left side, followed by the other checking the right. Finally, 117 leave the elevator checking in front of them.
Once they had confirmed that no one was in the generator room, 117 would raise his hand to signal them to move forward. Not letting their guard down, the troopers moved forward together while keeping their vigilance. The generator room is a large room with a single giant electric pillar in the middle. There are also multiple catwalks near the pillar's upper body.
117 would signal the others to split up and check both sides of the pillar. The other two would go to the right together while he go to the left.
They would then meet again on the other side of the pillar. It was then that they would see something on the pillar. A section of the pillar's metallic body was cut open. Several of its inner cables have also been cut, indicating signs of sabotage there. 117 would then contact 421 to report the damages.
"421, there's a section of the generator pillar that's been damaged. Looks like someone has sabotaged it"
"880 and his team are near your position. I'll tell him and his engineers to go there and get working"
"Copy that. We'll stay here and..."
As Priad turned his head to the door on that side of the pillar, his eyes widened.
A girl was holding a rocket launcher that was aimed at them, but 117 specifically.
She then fired the rocket launcher at 117.
117 reacted quickly and shouted "Rockets!"
They then jumped out of the way but barely got out, right when the rocket hit the pillar and exploded upon its impact. The girl didn't stick around and immediately ran away, dropping the rocket launcher on the ground. Even though the explosion hit the troopers, their armor protected them from most of the damage.
117 looked at the door and noticed that the girl had run away. He then slowly stood up again.
"Everybody ok?"
"I'm good!" 553 answered while also standing up.
108 instead answered with a pained groan.
The two would look at him and notice that a piece of the pillar was stuck in one of his legs.
"Just go... don't let her get away!"
The generator room is now engulfed in fire as sparks of electricity start to burst out of the pillar. It's as if the pillar was about to explode. The two troopers nodded before leaving the room to go after the girl. While they chased her through the hallway, 117 would call 421 again.
"There's a hostile onboard, young female. She just blew up the generator room. It's barely holding on, and 108 is wounded!"
"Copy, I'll notify the others"
"Track her movement and keep us updated!"
He finished the call and continued the chase. After some time, they would end up in the storage bay. Multiple iron container boxes were stored there, some were more gigantic than others. Some are also placed on the second floor of the room.
"Quite a lot of hiding space here"
"Perfect spot for an ambush too"
Suddenly, the door behind them closes. 117 immediately calls 421 again.
"421, the door to the storage bay just closed. Did you do that?"
"No, that wasn't me. Hold on, I'll try to get it open"
The lights then turn off, making the room dark. The two of them turn on their night vision and start looking around.
"Make it quick 421!"
117 then ended the call and focused back on their current situation. They began to slowly make their way inward through the maze of container boxes, keeping a little distance from each other while watching each other's backs to when she would strike.
As they were next to a giant container box, 117 would hear a faint noise coming from within it. He quickly jumped towards 553, simultaneously pushing him and jumping out of the way, as the wall of the container suddenly broke and shattered. The girl jumped through it with two of her giant metallic fists, with one of them punching through the wall.
For a brief moment, 117 and her eyes met. The voice would play out in his head again.
"Protect"
After the girl landed, she looked at them with an angry look. The troopers both quickly stood up. While 553 readies his rifle, 117 is still dumbstruck by her appearance. Because he knew who the girl was.
"Faith...Narukami"
The girl is wearing a black long-sleeved buttoned shirt and a long red cape, yet both her arms are covered by giant metallic fists as if she were wearing them like a glove.
Without hesitation, 553 immediately opens fire and shoots her, yet she uses one of her fists to block the shots with ease. Once 553 stops shooting, the metallic fists dissolve into small particle-like drones, and reform themselves into blades on both of her hands.
"Priad" She said while focusing her gaze towards 117.
