Daniel guided Iris through the lobby with ease, dodging through the crowd to the elevator. Iris' gaze wandered, everything around her felt familiar, even the subtle scent of perfume in the lobby hadn't changed.
"Let's go see my dad first," Daniel said, breaking the silence as he glanced at Iris. "He's been quite stressed lately, the work with our French partners hasn't been going smoothly."
Iris tilted her head slightly towards Daniel, about to ask more when the elevator arrived, with a colleague conveniently standing at the doors. Daniel lowered his voice, "You'll see in a bit."
