Chapter 267 - Chapter 267: Konoha Taijutsu’s Strongest

"I didn't expect to become teammates with you, Guy. My luck is really good." On the way to the training ground, Genma said to the coincidentally met Guy.

Compared to classmates with ordinary strength, Genma naturally preferred to be teammates with someone strong like Obito and Guy. On one hand, it provides a reliable teammate for future missions, and on the other hand, it offers an opportunity to ask questions about daily training.

"Can I consult you about Taijutsu in the future?" Genma asked with a smile.

"Of course, no problem." Guy responded, giving a thumbs-up. He is someone who is happy to share.

Then the two arrived at the training ground and saw Ebisu waiting there.

"Good morning, Ebisu." Genma greeted the old acquaintance Ebisu with a raised hand.

Ebisu also responded to Genma.

"Strange, where is our sensei? The meeting place should be here," Genma said, looking around with confusion.

"The meeting place is indeed here; maybe something came up," Ebisu nodded and replied.

"You should seize every moment of youth. Let's do some exercise while we wait," Guy began doing one-finger push-ups and invited Genma and Ebisu to join him.

"Ha ha, I'll pass. My stamina isn't as strong as yours, Guy. It's better to wait for the sensei to see what's going on," Genma declined Guy's suggestion.

Although exercising isn't a bad thing, since it's their first time meeting the sensei and they don't know what kind of training will be conducted, he felt it's better to conserve his energy.

Ebisu had similar thoughts to Genma, so he also declined Guy's invitation and waited in place.

After about five minutes, a middle-aged man dressed in a yellow sports jacket and yellow tights came into view, slowly approaching them while eating a rice ball.

"You are Genma, Ebisu, and Guy?" When the middle-aged man approached them, he had nearly finished eating his rice ball and asked.

"I am Shiranui Genma."

"I am Ebisu."

"I am Might Guy!" Guy replied with a big smile, showing his white teeth as he performed a flip.

"Do you all know each other?" the middle-aged man asked again.

The three nodded; they were considered friends.

"Then let's skip the self-introduction. My name is Chen*, and you can call me Chen-sensei. I won't say much more because if you can't pass my training, you will be sent back to the Academy," Chen-sensei said directly.

"Ah, go back to the Academy?" Genma was confused. Even during graduation, there was no such training, and he wondered how a qualified Genin could be sent back to the Academy.

"Chen-sensei?" Ebisu suddenly thought of something, his eyes behind the sunglasses showing some surprise.

Unlike other students, Ebisu, although a student himself, liked to pay attention to things outside of school. If he remembered correctly, there was a Chen-sensei who was said to be the strongest in Konoha Taijutsu.

"It can't be that Chen-sensei, can it? If it is, I must pass the training!" Ebisu was a bit excited.

He believed that one's background could greatly influence their strength, and having a great sensei could impact one's future. Even though Chen-sensei was only the strongest in Taijutsu, it was still much better than an ordinary sensei.

"That's right. If you don't pass my training, I will cancel your Ninja status and send you back to the Academy. This is my right as a sensei," Chen-sensei said calmly.

He had not served as a sensei for a long time, only occasionally taking on disciples to pass on his Taijutsu techniques. However, when Sarutobi Hiruzen told him that an unprecedented Taijutsu genius had appeared at the Academy, he agreed to take on the role of sensei again.

Chen-sensei was no longer a young man. Although Sarutobi Hiruzen spoke highly of the genius, he still planned to personally test the so-called Taijutsu prodigy's level. If the prodigy did not meet his standards, he would directly send them back to the Academy and resign from his position as a sensei.

"What kind of training?" Guy asked calmly.

He was confident in his own strength, having defeated his close friend who had long become a Chunin. Training aimed at Genin would not be difficult for him.

"Stealing the bell. As long as one of you can grab the bell from my hand, all of you will pass. If no one grabs it by nightfall, then prepare to spend another year at the Academy," Chen-sensei said, taking out a bell.

He was too lazy to play mind games; he would pass them if they demonstrated satisfactory strength, otherwise, they would all be sent back to the Academy.

"You can use any means to attack me, but let me give you a warning in advance: don't attack recklessly. My specialty is Taijutsu, and it can be very painful," Chen-sensei said as he sat down on the ground.

Afterward, Chen-sensei took out a book with a cover featuring a coolly dressed woman and began to read.

Genma pulled Ebisu and Guy to the side to discuss their strategy.

"What should we do? He doesn't seem to be joking. If we don't complete it, we might really lose our Ninja status and go back to the Academy," Genma said with a serious expression.

Although Chen-sensei spoke casually and without a serious face, Genma felt that Chen-sensei would indeed follow through on his words.

"Let's do our best to complete it. If we become Chen-sensei's disciples, we won't have to worry about our future. He's known as the strongest Taijutsu Ninja in Konoha," Ebisu shared the information he knew with the others.

"Ah, the strongest Taijutsu Ninja?" Genma looked at Chen-sensei, who was reading a book and occasionally chuckling to himself, with a skeptical expression.

He didn't look much like a Taijutsu Ninja. For one, he was only slightly taller than the nine-year-olds and appeared to be around 1.5 meters tall, with no visible muscles to speak of.

"The strongest Taijutsu Ninja in Konoha!" Unlike Genma, Guy's face immediately lit up with excitement upon hearing this. His dream was to become the strongest Taijutsu master in the Ninja world, and since Chen-sensei was the strongest Taijutsu Ninja in Konoha, his Taijutsu must be extraordinary.

Ebisu adjusted his sunglasses and said, "There's no mistake. They call him Chen-sensei and say he specializes in Taijutsu."

"Isn't that even worse? If he really is the strongest Taijutsu Ninja in Konoha, how are we supposed to grab the bell from him?" Genma said with a worried expression.

Although having a strong sensei is a good thing, this situation didn't seem so favorable.

"Just fight with all your might. Even if we fail, it just means we didn't try hard enough. Youth should burn fiercely," Guy said, giving a thumbs-up to encourage them.

After looking at Guy, Genma felt a bit more confident. Although their sensei was strong, they also had an exceptional teammate.

"That's true, but shouldn't we come up with some strategies?" Genma suggested after thinking for a moment.

"Let's set some traps to lure him in, then Guy can take the lead in the attack while we assist him," Ebisu responded after some thought.

He was well aware that this training depended on Guy. Although Genma was stronger than him, his strength had its limits. Guy had the ability to defeat them in an instant, making him the undisputed powerhouse of this training.

As they prepared, the group set traps and discussed their individual skills. Genma was skilled in using ninja tools and Body Flicker Jutsu, Ebisu was well-rounded with all abilities at a similar level, and Guy specialized in Taijutsu.

When they were nearly ready, the three of them went to lure Chen-sensei into the trap area.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!!

Ebisu and Genma threw Shuriken at Chen-sensei.

"Finally ready, but it took quite a while," Chen-sensei said casually as he closed and put away his book. When the Shuriken were about to reach him, he burst into action and dodged the incoming Shuriken with incredible speed.

"So fast." Genma began to believe that this middle-aged man, who looked neither tall nor muscular, was indeed the strongest Taijutsu Ninja in Konoha.

"Run!" Ebisu's pupils contracted as he shouted urgently.

He feared that Chen-sensei's speed was so great that he might catch up with them before they reached the trap area.

Although Guy was eager to test Chen-sensei's strength, he knew how important this training was. Therefore, he didn't act recklessly and followed Ebisu, keeping a watchful eye on Chen-sensei's movements.

He could accept not becoming a Ninja himself, but if his rash actions caused his teammates to lose their Ninja status, Guy couldn't accept that.

"Let me see what tricks you've prepared," Chen-sensei said, not pursuing them with full force but maintaining a subtle distance.

Once they reached the location, Ebisu immediately activated the traps, launching a barrage of Shuriken at Chen-sensei.

Chen-sensei ignored the incoming Shuriken, glanced around with a look of disappointment, and said, "Is that it?"

"Konoha Dragon God!"

Chen-sensei unleashed all his Chakra, spinning at high speed. A massive Great Whirlwind appeared out of nowhere, gradually forming into a thick green dragon.

Under the powerful force of the dragon-shaped whirlwind, Guy and the others' Shuriken traps were easily dispelled. Moreover, the Great Whirlwind continued to rampage around, destroying all the traps on the field at an extremely fast speed.

Clang!

Genma's Kunai fell to the ground as he looked on in shock at the devastated trap area.

"What is this? How can we possibly grab the bell like this…" Genma, gazing at the massive green dragon over twenty meters long, was already thinking of how to explain to his former juniors why he was going back to school.

He didn't think he could use a Senbon or a Kunai to break through this terrifying whirlwind to grab Chen-sensei's bell, and he even doubted if Guy could manage it.

"Is this the strength of the strongest Taijutsu in Konoha?" Ebisu looked at the fearsome whirlwind in amazement; he had never seen such a grand spectacle.

"So powerful Taijutsu, no wonder it's the strongest in Konoha!" Guy was also a bit surprised but more excited, eagerly anticipating the upcoming battle.

Guy silently adjusted his breathing, focusing it to the utmost concentration.

"Since the traps are useless, it's time for the Taijutsu beast to make its appearance!" Guy, full of battle intent, prepared to make his move.
