Chapter 261 - Chapter 261: Surprise from the Disciples

"Great, it's Clone Jutsu. I'm best at Clone Jutsu."

"Unlucky, why isn't it Transformation Jutsu?"

"Damn it, I've been practicing Substitution Jutsu recently, and the exam is on Clone Jutsu."

After Chitani Isamu announced the topic, a discussion arose in the classroom.

"Clone Jutsu, so simple. This time I'm definitely getting a full score," Obito said with a smile. Even Shadow Clone Jutsu was no problem for him, let alone the non-physical Clone Jutsu.

"Hard work pays off," Guy said, shaking his fist with a smile. Among the basic Ninjutsu, Clone Jutsu was his strongest.

Rin didn't have any special feelings; her basic Ninjutsu skills were about average, so it didn't make much difference what the exam was.

"Everyone be quiet, I'm going to start calling names," Chitani Isamu said, pressing his hand down to signal the students to keep quiet.

"Murai Kazuya."

The student whose name was called quickly stood up and followed Chitani Isamu to the next classroom.

A few minutes later, Chitani Isamu and another proctor returned to the classroom and said with a smile:

"Everyone do your best. Kazuya has already graduated smoothly, so don't fall behind him."

Students who had finished their exams were not allowed to return to the classroom to maintain the quiet.

After sharing this good news with the students, Chitani Isamu continued calling out the next student's name.

"Might Guy."

Hearing his name, Guy stood up and walked towards the door, following Chitani Isamu to the next classroom.

Guy glanced around the classroom. It was quite empty, with only two chairs and one table, and the table was covered with a large number of Ninja headbands.

"Guy can take a moment to prepare; no need to be nervous. The exam will officially start in one and a half minutes," Chitani Isamu said with a kind smile.

When he first took over Class 4-2, he felt unlucky to have encountered Obito and Guy, two of the school's most notorious underperformers. However, after the first exam, he realized he was actually quite fortunate. Thanks to Guy and Obito, he successfully earned his first excellent sensei title in his teaching career. Naturally, Chitani Isamu was very accommodating to students who brought him good fortune.

"Hoo hoo." Guy nodded, took a deep breath, and his expression became excited.

Today, he would take a solid step towards becoming the strongest in Taijutsu and officially becoming a Ninja!

"You can start now; the topic is Clone Jutsu," Chitani Isamu said, reminding Guy of the exam topic to make sure he didn't forget.

"Clone Jutsu!"

Guy performed the hand signs steadily, channeling Chakra to use one of the few Ninjutsu techniques he had learned. After using the Ninjutsu, three identical Clones appeared around Guy, each mirroring his movements exactly.

Chitani Isamu carefully examined Guy's Clones, nodded in satisfaction, and lowered his head to grade him.

Generally, being able to produce one Clone with minimal difference from the original is considered passing. More Clones result in a higher score, and the more the Clones resemble the original in all aspects, the higher the score.

In fact, Chitani Isamu was quite surprised to see Guy perform such a Clone Jutsu. He knew Guy was very strong, but he had never used Ninjutsu in combat, having never used a single technique. He had even considered explaining the situation to the Hokage if Guy truly couldn't perform Ninjutsu, suggesting a special graduation for him, as such an excellent student shouldn't be restricted by rules. After seeing Guy's Clone Jutsu, he realized that wouldn't be necessary.

"Very well, Guy, you've passed. Congratulations on graduating and becoming a Genin," Chitani Isamu said with a smile, handing a headband to Guy.

Guy stepped forward to receive the headband and celebrated by saying, "To celebrate my successful graduation, I'll definitely double my training today!"

Chitani Isamu found it a bit strange. Usually, celebrations meant no training for the day, but Guy was doing the opposite.

"Perhaps that's why his Taijutsu far exceeds that of his peers," Chitani Isamu thought to himself.

"Next, you can't return to the classroom. If you have friends to wait for, you can wait outside the teaching building," Chitani Isamu reminded everyone.

The entire Academy was in the midst of exams, and the hallways couldn't be loitered in.

Guy flashed a wide, bright smile, nodded, and headed towards the outside of the teaching building.

As time went on, the number of people in the classroom gradually decreased, but Obito had not yet been called.

"Nohara Rin."

Upon hearing this name, Obito thought to himself that it was finally his turn. His student number was after Rin's, so once Rin was called, it would be his turn next.

"Rin-chan, good luck!" Obito said with a smile, encouraging Rin.

"Mm, I'll wait for you outside after I finish," Rin responded with a smile, then followed Chitani Isamu to the next classroom.

A few minutes later, Chitani Isamu returned, and Obito finally heard his name.

"Uchiha Obito."

Obito quickly stood up and followed Chitani Isamu out of the classroom.

"You have a minute and a half to prepare. The topic is Clone Jutsu. You may start early if you feel ready," Chitani Isamu reminded him with a smile.

He wasn't worried about Obito's performance at all; compared to Taijutsu, Obito was more skilled in Ninjutsu.

"I can start now; I don't need any preparation," Obito confidently replied.

It was just Clone Jutsu; he didn't think he needed to prepare.

He had waited long enough and just wanted to finish the exam and become a formal Ninja.

"Alright then, the exam begins," Chitani Isamu agreed to Obito's request.

"Clone Jutsu!"

Obito quickly performed the hand signs, and the classroom was instantly filled with white smoke.

Bang bang!!

In an instant, eight Clones of Obito appeared in the classroom, each maintaining the hand sign position.

"Just as expected," Chitani Isamu examined all the Clones and nodded to himself in approval.

Creating eight Clones in one breath, each identical to the original, unquestionably earned a perfect score in Ninjutsu. Moreover, Obito's perfect score was different from others. While others' perfect scores were merely a perfect hundred, Obito's was the maximum score allowed by the Academy.

"An excellent Clone Jutsu. Obito, you've passed. Congratulations on graduating and becoming a Genin," Chitani Isamu said with a smile, handing Obito a headband after grading him.

"Chitani-sensei, do you know who I'll be placed in a class with?" Obito asked as he received the headband.

Chitani Isamu shook his head and said, "That will be decided when the graduate list is submitted and reviewed by the higher-ups. I won't know until the list comes down."

Class assignments are determined by the Hokage, so generally, he only knows a day earlier than the students.

"I see. Well then, Chitani-sensei, goodbye," Obito said, waving as he bid farewell.

"Chitani-sensei, your lectures are really boring. You should learn more from Yumi-sensei," Obito said with a smirk as he reached the door, then ran out of the teaching building.

He had been wanting to make a comment and finally found the opportunity.

"This kid." Chitani Isamu showed a somewhat awkward smile.

"After all, he interned with Yumi-sensei for so long, so it's understandable that he might think I'm not as good," Chitani Isamu quickly composed himself. Compared to Mutsuki, no sensei in the entire Academy could measure up.

As Mutsuki gradually demonstrated his abilities, his image evolved in the eyes of others. Initially, he was seen as a kind colleague favored by students. Later, he was recognized for his strong teaching skills. After the latest issue of Konoha Report, his Ninja strength also reshaped many senseis' perceptions.

Despite all the changes, Mutsuki's initial gentleness and friendliness remained at the core. The more he showcased his skills, the more he appeared humble and low-key.

After running out of the teaching building, Obito saw Rin and Guy waiting outside.

"Rin-chan, Guy," Obito greeted, waving his headband.

"Obito, aren't you worried about dropping it and getting it dirty?" Rin asked as she reminded him, already wearing her headband.

"It's fine. Even if it falls, I'm sure I can catch it," Obito said, though he quickly began to put on his headband after seeing that Rin had already put hers on.

Obito's hands were quick, but in his haste, he ended up putting it on crooked.

"You've put it on crooked; let me help you," Rin said as she walked in front of Obito to adjust the headband for him.

As Rin's face came closer, her clear, sparkling eyes grew larger in Obito's view. His face gradually turned red, and he instinctively took a step back.

"Honestly, don't move around so much," Rin said with a hint of exasperation, her hands on her hips.

"I actually did it on purpose, to add a personal touch," Obito explained, his face slightly flushed.

"Well, that's fine. But when the class assignments come out and you meet your guiding sensei, make sure to wear it properly to make a good impression," Rin said, stopping in her tracks.

"Shouldn't anyone care about this?" Obito scratched his head.

He thought that a slightly crooked headband shouldn't matter much, and it seemed a bit excessive to be so particular about students' headbands.

"Well, in that case, it means Rin-chan really cares about me," Obito thought with a smile.

"If it were a particularly strict sensei, they might care," Rin said, believing that one should strive to do things well whenever possible.

"Alright, I will," Obito said, no longer being stubborn, seeing how serious Rin was.

Later, as they were wandering around the school, they ran into Mutsuki.

"Congratulations. From today on, you are officially Konoha Ninjas," Mutsuki said, looking at the headbands on Rin and Obito's heads, as well as on Guy's waist, knowing that they had passed the graduation exam.

"Hehe, thanks to Yumi-sensei's teaching. I used to only be able to produce one Clone, and I wasn't sure if I could pass the exam," Obito said with a grin, expressing his gratitude to Mutsuki.

His skills had greatly improved this semester; he had learned several Fire Release techniques and unlocked the Sharingan. He felt that he could easily defeat ten of his former self from the start of fourth grade.

Guy showed an expression of agreement, gave Mutsuki a thumbs up, and said:

"Although Ninjutsu is difficult, with Yumi-sensei teaching, it becomes much easier."

Without Mutsuki, he felt he wouldn't have been able to perform Clone Jutsu with three Clones.

The three disciples all expressed their gratitude to Mutsuki, knowing that without him, they definitely wouldn't have such skills.

Mutsuki responded with a gentle smile, saying, "You've all worked hard too. No matter how much I teach, if you don't put in the effort, you won't improve."

At this moment, Obito was eagerly wanting to take Mutsuki to the appreciation gathering and present the carefully prepared gift.

Mutsuki had given them so much, yet always emphasized their own efforts, which made Obito feel particularly indebted.

However, he knew it wasn't the right time yet, as Shisui still needed to take the exam. They had scheduled the appreciation gathering for the evening.

"Yumi-sensei, do you have time now? I want to train in the Southern Forest," Obito asked after a moment of thought.

Now that they had graduated, there wouldn't be much time to train with Mutsuki after class assignments, so he wanted to make the most of this opportunity to train.

"Then let's go together," Mutsuki agreed with a nod.

He didn't need to proctor the exam, and actually, he didn't have much to do today. If it weren't for Obito and the others' graduation exams, Mutsuki would likely be at home studying Sealing Jutsu.

Guy and Rin also went to the Southern Forest.

When they arrived, Kakashi was training with Shadow Clones of Mutsuki. Seeing Mutsuki and Obito approaching, Kakashi stopped his training and greeted them.

"Heh heh, Kakashi, don't call me an intern Ninja anymore. I'm officially a Ninja now," Obito couldn't help but show off his newly acquired Ninja headband as soon as he arrived.

"Oh, Genin Obito, hello. Please call me Kakashi-sama from now on, as I'm a Chunin," Kakashi said with a nonchalant expression, pointing to the Chunin vest he was wearing.

In terms of Ninja rank, he was undoubtedly the leader.

Obito: …

"It's just a Chunin. I'll definitely become a Chunin very soon," Obito said after a moment of silence. He certainly couldn't bring himself to say "Kakashi-sama," as that would be more painful than anything.

"You two, really," Rin showed a helpless smile at their behavior.

"Whether you're a Chunin or a Genin, just focus on your training, because I'm your sensei," Mutsuki said, tapping Obito on the head with his finger and then using a Brick Break technique to strike Kakashi from a distance.

Feeling the transparent energy hit his forehead, Kakashi didn't know what to think; it seemed strange that striking a student required such a level of skill.

"Got it!" Obito, already used to this, didn't feel anything and even had time to joke around.

The rest of the training proceeded as usual. Shisui returned from his exam and had just started his training when it was almost time for Mutsuki to announce the end of the session.

However, unlike usual, the disciples did not disperse. Instead, they gathered around Mutsuki.

"Yumi-sensei, could you close your eyes? We have a surprise for you," Obito said, looking at Mutsuki with anticipation.

"Sure," Mutsuki replied with a smile, closing his eyes. With his Transparent World ability, he knew nothing unexpected would happen.
