Chapter 235 - Chapter 235: Mastery-level Taijutsu

"Guy really can't be underestimated at all. Although his offensive means are only Taijutsu, this Taijutsu is incredibly strong," Shiranui Genma sighed.

Initially, he had higher expectations for Obito because Obito himself is very skilled in Ninjutsu, and this time he also demonstrated powerful Taijutsu without any weaknesses.

"Could it be that Guy's father was a powerful Taijutsu ninja? He's unexpectedly strong," Ebisu pondered deeply.

Discussion at the scene continued incessantly. The performance of Guy and Obito in their recent battle was beyond the reach of ordinary students.

"I didn't expect you had an ace up your sleeve, Guy," Obito said weakly.

Having endured a full-powered kick and elbow strike from Guy, enhanced by Total Concentration Breathing, Obito felt that if he didn't have Flame Breathing, he would have passed out by now.

"Haha, I didn't have a chance to use it before," Guy said with a big grin, showing off his large white teeth.

He hadn't intentionally hidden it; this was the first Genjutsu he had dispelled after learning how to counter Genjutsu.

Guy reached out to Obito, who grabbed his hand. Then, supporting Obito, Guy walked him out of the battlefield. There was another round of battles coming up

"Obito, are you alright?" Rin asked softly with a concerned look.

Upon hearing Rin's question, Obito seemed to instantly recover. He no longer needed Guy's support and stood upright, taking a few steps in front of Rin.

"I'm fine, what could possibly be wrong? Just got hit a couple of times, that's all," Obito said.

"Is that so?" Rin looked at Obito skeptically and poked his waist where he had been elbowed.

"Ah!" Obito instantly felt a sharp pain and sucked in a breath of cold air, his eyes widening in shock.

"Still saying you're fine, your face has gone pale from the pain," Rin stared into Obito's eyes, speaking sternly.

"I've been watching you and Guy fight the whole time. When you were knocked down, it seemed like the ground was about to crack open. How could you possibly be okay?"

Obito remained silent, not saying a word. He wanted to be seen as strong in Rin's eyes. How could a strong person admit to pain?

"Let me help treat you," Rin said with a helpless expression, preparing to lead Obito away for treatment.

"Guy, come over here too. You must have been injured by Fire Release as well. It wouldn't be good if it affects the upcoming battles."

Guy nodded. He wasn't at the level where he could resist Ninjutsu without getting hurt. He had indeed been slightly injured while trying to withstand Phoenix Sage Fire, but he could endure it with perseverance.

Mutsuki watched this scene unfold and decided not to intervene to treat them himself. He wasn't so desperate that he needed to compete with Rin over something like this.

The three of them moved away from the crowd and began the treatment beside a quiet large tree.

Rin's hands emitted a bright green chakra light, which she then placed on Obito's abdomen.

She had been studying Medical Ninjutsu for over five months and could now use it preliminarily for healing.

"Thank you, Rin-chan" Obito scratched his head and thanked Rin.

Although his disguise of strength had been seen through, leading to a somewhat awkward mood, Obito was still very grateful to Rin.

Guy also expressed his gratitude, giving Rin a thumbs-up and saying, "You've restored me to my peak in no time at all! I'm really thankful!"

"I may not be as strong as you guys with Fire Release or speedy Taijutsu, but you can trust me with healing," Rin said with a smile.

"Especially you, Obito. Don't be stubborn. If you need treatment, you must tell me. Or do you not trust my abilities?" Rin put her hands on her hips, puffing her cheeks slightly as she asked Obito.

"Of course not," Obito immediately denied.

Although he wasn't particularly good at pleasing girls, he knew he couldn't say yes at a time like this.

"It's just that sometimes I really feel like there's nothing wrong," Obito couldn't think of a better answer, so he chose to remain stubborn.

"You really make people worry," Rin sighed helplessly, touching her forehead.

She was genuinely worried about what would happen to Obito after graduation. By then, neither Mutsuki nor she would be around him. His teammates might not be as reliable as Kakashi and Guy. What would they do if he got injured during a mission?

"Hehe." Hearing Rin's words, Obito couldn't help but chuckle. Although it sounded like a reproach, it actually showed that Rin cared a lot about him.

With the treatment completed, the group returned to the exam venue.

Before long, the final round of the four-against-two also concluded, ushering in the decisive battle of this practical exam.

However, by this time, half of the spectators had already left because they felt there was no need to watch anymore—the winner was definitely going to be Guy.

The remaining half of the spectators also believed that Guy would surely win.

"Guy wins!"

As they expected, Guy emerged victorious, and he won decisively. His opponent wasn't Obito; Guy didn't even need to open the Eight Inner Gates. As soon as he used his Breathing Technique, the match was over. The proctor-sensei barely finished announcing the start before declaring the victory.

"Today's youth burned passionately!" Guy, who secured first place in the grade, gave himself a thumbs-up.

Once again achieving first place in his grade, he continued forward on the path of his dreams.

"Guy, congratulations on taking first place in the grade. You performed excellently today," Mutsuki smiled timely, offering blessings to his disciple and presenting Guy with a calligraphy piece he had written himself.

"Where there's a will, there's a way." Reading the words above, Guy seemed to feel Mutsuki's expectations for him.

"Yumi-sensei, rest assured, I will exert maximum effort in my training to achieve my dream and not disappoint your teachings!" Guy said tearfully, clenching his fists.

"I believe in you. You will succeed and become the strongest in Taijutsu," Mutsuki said with a warm smile.

"[You have gifted your disciple a personally-written calligraphy piece, greatly boosting his morale, and received a reward—'Brick Break (Mastery)']"

Upon seeing this reward, Mutsuki was momentarily puzzled, thinking 'Mastery-level Brick Break? Isn't Proficient with Brick Break enough?'

Once the system's memory of the skill from Mutsuki's world entered his mind, he remembered which world this skill came from.

Brick Break is a fighting-type move in the Pokémon world, where it involves chopping downward with a hand blade, delivering significant damage and capable of breaking barriers or reflecting back throws.

After localization within the system, Brick Break became a Taijutsu technique, still executed with a hand blade attack, but now with two different attack methods.

One type is the close-range Brick Break, where Chakra is wrapped around the hand to enhance its piercing power, then chopping with a hand blade.

The second type is a long-range attack, consuming more Chakra and slightly less powerful than close-range Brick Break. However, the benefit is that it can reach enemies at a distance, somewhat similar to Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm.

After organizing his training memories a bit, Mutsuki was very satisfied with this reward because this Taijutsu not only had two attack methods but also had considerable power.

Although it's just chopping with a hand blade, but just like Tsunade's Enhanced Strength Fist, it looks ordinary when throwing a punch, but it actually involves highly skilled Chakra manipulation techniques.

Although Brick Break may not have the same level of manipulation as Enhanced Strength, it's not something that can be used casually. The key is compressing Chakra to increase its density and strength.

"Or maybe rename it to Konoha Hand Blade. Brick Break sounds a bit odd," Mutsuki felt that he could suggest changing this name.

Apart from congratulating his victorious disciple, Mutsuki didn't forget to console Obito after his defeat. They had a chat in the Southern Forest after training, though rewards couldn't be triggered anymore. Mutsuki also gifted Obito a calligraphy piece he had written himself.

After the Academy exams ended, Mutsuki's disciples resumed their training rhythm. On the first day after exams, Mutsuki intensified their training: Shisui and Obito focused on intense problem-solving sessions, while Kakashi and Mutsuki used Thunder Breathing in combat.

"This time, let's aim to keep the questions under thirty," Obito said spiritedly, trying to reduce the punishement of almost every training session.

"Just dodge like before," Shisui replied confidently, having successfully evaded Mutsuki's attacks previously without activating his Sharingan.

As training began, they split up and were pursued by Shadow Clones.

Shisui activated his Sharingan to observe Mutsuki's Shadow Clone's movements.

Although there had already been an instance of evasion, Shisui did not stubbornly wait in place for Mutsuki's attack.

He knew that such optimal conditions were not constant; to minimize getting hit, he needed to reduce the number of times Mutsuki could attack him.

When he had to dodge, Shisui halted, his blood-red eyes fixed on Mutsuki's fingertips.

"I will complete what my grandfather couldn't. I will end prejudice against the Uchiha clan. I am Yumi-sensei's first disciple, and I can evade this attack!" Shisui's expression relaxed as his gaze grew more resolute.

"Flame Breathing, Total Concentration Breathing!"

As his concentration deepened, Shisui felt as if flames were truly burning within him, providing him with an endless source of power.

In the end, Mutsuki's fingertips brushed past Shisui's hair, and he succeeded.

Shisui's lips curved slightly upward. Immediately using the Body Flicker Jutsu, he created distance and continued evading Mutsuki's pursuit.

"After being hit seventeen times and dodging twice, Obito needs to complete a total of thirty problems. Shisui was hit fifteen times, dodged twice, and needs to complete a total of twenty-six questions," Mutsuki announced the results of their special training.

"Shisui only needs to do twenty-six questions?" Obito looked at Shisui with envy.

Although he had also made progress, it seemed less compared to Shisui's significant improvement.

"It's just four questions difference," Shisui smiled reassuringly at Obito, satisfied with his performance this time.

"But it's a whole four questions!" Obito felt that Shisui couldn't understand the disparity between them. How could he casually describe it as "just" four questions?

Smack!

Mutsuki's finger tapped Obito's head. Obito instinctively dodged with all his might, but Mutsuki's finger still accurately landed on his forehead as he said, "If you find it too much to finish at once, you can divide it into parts."

"No, no, I'd rather try my best," Obito wanted to break the habit of procrastinating.

The day after the exam ended, Obito didn't head straight to the Southern Border Forest in the morning, but instead went to the Academy.

Today was the day the Academy released the results. Mutsuki said they could check the results first before going to train in the Southern Border Forest. Obito looked forward to seeing the expressions on those people's faces when they saw his grades and mission records."
