Chapter 129 - Chapter 129: Obito's Improvement

Looking at Obito, who seemed to be comforting him but was actually wearing a smirk of amusement, Shisui's mood was somewhat complicated.

He wanted to say, "Thanks for the comfort, but you don't have to next time," but decided against it.

Shisui decided to practice a bit more, while Obito went back with Rin.

Although Obito and Rin weren't completely on the same path, they still had a considerable distance to go together.

"Rin-chan, how's the progress with Medical Ninjutsu training?" Obito asked with a smile on the way back.

"It's going smoothly. I feel like I've learned a lot of useful new knowledge, and now I can perform some basic healing," Rin replied.

"If you ever get injured in the future, Obito, be sure to come to me for treatment," Rin said, showing a gentle smile.

Watching Rin's smile, Obito was a bit absent-minded. He seemed to see blooming flowers and then scratched his head, smiling.

"Hehe, then I'll have to rely on you, Rin-chan," Obito said.

"Treating you is definitely not a bother, but Obito, you also need to be careful and avoid getting injured. Just because someone can treat you, doesn't mean you shouldn't protect yourself," Rin said, looking at Obito seriously.

"Injuries can be really painful."

"I'm Uchiha Obito, the strongest student in the fourth grade. It's not that easy for me to get hurt," Obito said, patting his chest to assure her.

"But Obito, you've never actually ranked first in combat for the year, so can you really be called the strongest in the fourth grade?" Rin reminded him.

"But during the summer special training, I defeated Guy, so it counts," Obito said without changing his expression.

"Well, I guess that makes sense," Rin thought for a moment and found it wasn't just boasting.

"I hope you can keep it up, Obito. If you continue like this, you'll definitely become an excellent ninja," Rin encouraged, clenching her fists.

Obito's cheeks turned slightly red, his fighting spirit breaking through its limits. He planned to continue training for a while after returning.

After reaching the point of parting ways, the two waved goodbye to each other.

"It would be great if I could be in the same group as Rin-chan after graduation," Obito said with a smile as he walked along the street, his mind filled with incredibly beautiful illusions.

He imagined training together with Rin, undertaking dangerous missions together. If Rin was in danger, he would heroically rescue her, and if he accidentally got injured, Rin would use Medical Ninjutsu to heal him.

They would help each other complete various difficult tasks, eventually becoming a tale of excellence in the ninja world.

Although the standard team formation was three people, Obito didn't mind who the remaining person would be, as long as it wasn't Kakashi.

He didn't think it would be Kakashi anyway, because Kakashi had graduated years ago and already had his own team and sensei.

"Ma'am, do you need help?" Obito suddenly noticed an old lady who seemed to have fallen, and he quickly rushed forward to ask.

"Would you mind helping me to the side to rest a bit? My legs are feeling a bit uncomfortable," the old woman asked, furrowing her brow.

"Ma'am, how about I carry you on my back to the hospital? It wouldn't be good if you hurt your bones later," Obito suggested.

The old woman's body seemed more fragile, and this fall could easily have caused some serious injury to her bones.

"Don't worry, ma'am. Despite my size, I'm a ninja. I can carry not just you, but three more people on my back," Obito said confidently.

"A ninja..." The old woman's expression still showed some hesitation, not wanting to trouble this young child, Obito.

However, under Obito's enthusiastic and reassuring smile, the old woman finally agreed. Obito immediately lifted her onto his back and sprinted towards the Konoha Hospital.

After dropping the old woman off at the hospital, Obito also asked for her address at home, intending to inform her family.

After informing the old woman's relatives, Obito continued on his way home.

Obito hadn't walked far when he noticed an old man carefully descending the steps with a cane.

Without a second thought, Obito ran up to the old man and helped him safely down the steps.

"You're such a good kid. Thank you," the old man said, showing a kind smile, genuinely appreciative.

"It's nothing, just helping out," Obito waved his hand with a cheerful smile.

Soon after, Obito hadn't walked far when he saw another elderly person with a child, the child's toy stuck in a tree.

Obito concentrated chakra in his feet, made two leaps, jumped onto the tree, retrieved the toy, and returned it to its owner.

"Wow, big brother is amazing! Are you a ninja?" the excited child asked.

"I'm not an official ninja yet, but getting there," Obito replied with a grin.

Then, on the road, Obito encountered an elderly person carrying a large package. He helped the person carry the heavy load back home. It was only then that Obito realized he had circled back to the place where he and Rin had parted ways.

When Obito finally returned home, it was already quite late, and the sky had darkened completely.

"I wanted to practice a bit more, but I should rest now," Obito thought, checking the time.

Although helping people took up quite a bit of time, Obito didn't regret it. If he found himself back at the same point where he had parted ways with Rin, he would take the same action again.

Skipping a little practice time wouldn't have a huge impact on him, but if he hadn't taken the elderly person to the hospital, something really bad might have happened.

Afterward, Obito went to the yard and began practicing the Breathing Technique.

"Heat, burning, flames..." Obito inhaled a large amount of oxygen into his body, trying to comprehend the essence of Flame Breathing.

However, something unexpected happened to Obito. He suddenly felt a sensation he had never felt before—his body became intensely hot, and the Chakra meridians through which the airflow passed became warm.

Obito had a sudden idea, condensing Chakra in his palm, and then performing Nature Transformation.

Huff, huff!

Instantly, flames the size of fists surged from his palm, and Obito could clearly sense the temperature coming from the flames.

"The speed of flame transformation has increased," Obito said in amazement.

He couldn't see the specific values of Chakra like Mutsuki could, but Obito noticed that the speed of his recent Nature Transformation was different from normal.

Obito thought for a moment, regained his normal breathing, stopped using the Breathing Technique, and condensed Chakra again. This time, the flames on his palm were noticeably smaller than before in the same amount of time.

"So, eating spicy food has such a big impact on practicing Flame Breathing?" Obito exclaimed, both excited and surprised.

His situation aligned perfectly with Mutsuki's description of Flame Breathing.

Obito wished he could go buy two peppers right now and eat them before practicing again.

Though it would be uncomfortable with the heat at both ends, for the sake of not disappointing Rin and Mutsuki, for the sake of becoming an excellent ninja, a brief moment of pain was tolerable.

The next day, Obito shared the news of his progress with Mutsuki.

Mutsuki took a glance with his discerning eyes, and what he saw shocked him. Going from a Proficiency level of sixteen points, Obito had skyrocketed to twenty-one points, surpassing Guy's nineteen points.
