Talon and Claire stood behind the stage, silently waiting for their turn to perform. For a moment, they exchanged quiet glances, Talon observing Claire as she slightly bowed her head.
"Are you okay, Claire?" he inquired.
Claire closed her eyes briefly, then lifted her gaze, revealing a face of serene beauty illuminated by the soft stage lights that intertwined with her straight blonde hair. She took a slow, deep breath and exhaled softly.
Upon opening her eyes again, she smiled at him.
"Nervous?" Talon asked softly, noticing the slight tension in her posture.
Claire let out a nervous giggle. "Yes…"
She then lifted both her hands, palms facing up, revealing their paleness and a slight tremor.
Talon reached out, gently taking her hands in his, feeling the coolness of her skin against his warmth.
