Kayla asked Brice as the two of them stayed behind the group, who were currently on their way to the research base they would have to infiltrate.
Killi was in the lead while Carrot and Venthana helped him get his bearings.
So while they weren't doing anything, Kayla made sure to do something she needed to do.
Talk to Brice.
"You had a pretty bad expression when we mentioned the Divine Devourers.… Well, bad is an understatement. You looked like a ghost at the time." Kayla looked worriedly at Brice.
"Don't tell me they're the ones…"
Kayla didn't finish speaking, but Brice understood what she was implying.
So she couldn't help but scoff.
"Oh? Is our ever-determined Kayla hesitating now? Are you afraid of touching a nerve?" Brice looked at Kayla smugly.
