Endalia's eyes narrowed as her sword sliced forward.
As it swung through the air, a line of fire ignited along its length, dying its white color orange. She took a single step forward to put more power behind the swing, and the flames leaped off of the blade, rushing forward and burning the air.
The bat-demon's wings flapped once, a wave of cold surging out to meet the flames.
The cold swallowed the fire in a blink and continued forward on its destructive path, threatening to engulf Endalia in a storm of cold. But before it could, the light around her dimmed, and she appeared in the air above the demon, slashing down.
The demon's eye widened in terror, but right before the sword could connect, she cursed and twisted. Instead of dissecting the bat demon in the air, her sword instead was forced to parry a strike from the demon's stinger.
