Chapter 89 - Wasting Time

Ibmund's consciousness brushed against his, a mote of worry in its thoughts as it checked in on its master.

Ever since Lokus had made Ibmund his Egone, the demon had been able to hear its master's thoughts. It was only when the demon lost its body and its consciousness was transferred to the mask that the opposite became true as well, allowing for conversations that existed purely within their heads.

In other words, it had seen the dream its master had experienced. Although it had no understanding of the more human aspects of it, its master's negative emotions were hard to ignore.

Lokus reassured the demon with a few soothing thoughts, then assumed his role as night watchman.

Only an hour or so passed before he became bored.

He sighed aggravatedly. It would be one thing if there was something he could do, like practice his Throne, but all there was to do was sit on the bed and wait.
