Lokus and Endalia came to an abrupt stop, the latter following the arrow's direction with her gaze.
She looked up, up, up, until her neck hurt from the strain, but she saw nothing. When she commented on this to Lokus, he frowned.
"The ring says it's up there."
"But it isn't. Maybe that little ring of yours is wrong."
"Maybe… Or maybe the humans of Helannd have thought ahead." He pointed to a particular spot on the ground with his off-hand, where his Domain had spotted something. "Feel that?"
Endalia looked that way, and her brow creased. She felt Majesty buried just underneath the surface, pulsing to an unknown rhythm, but couldn't parse apart its purpose.
Then it dawned on her, and her eyes widened. "A portal!"
Indeed, while much cruder than what the Shadowfire Clan employed, the Majestic mechanisms of what could only be a portal sat poorly concealed just below the surface.
