Just as Allvain had said, Lokus had chosen a weapon before departing. The Shadowfire Clan focused on only two weapons, the staff and the sword, and the staffs and swords he had been shown were identical to the others of their category, indicating that they had been mass-produced.
After some deliberation, he had chosen the staff, for a few reasons. The reach it afforded was more favorable to him than the sword, and he reasoned that it would be easier to learn how to use what was essentially a large stick over a sharp slab of metal.
