They finished ascending the steps without another incident, and Stue was there on the other end of the bars to greet them.
He looked through those metal bars at them with an expression like he had just been told he'd have to fuck a goat to save his farm, and his mouth opened for a few seconds before he shut it and shook his head.
"Dammit, you assholes couldn't just die? Do you know how much I lost on you two?"
"The short man going for long odds?" Endalia grinned. "That's almost poetic."
"Shove it up your ass," the man sneered. He stepped forward and unlocked the door, throwing it open and stomping off into the building. "The boss wants to see you. Thanks to you, I'm up to my neck in debt, so I hope you're good with directions."
"That debt must not be too much then," Endalia said when Stue had left, laughing at her own joke. "Come on, I guess we should find the man in charge."
