程欢 blushed, her pretty face turning red, and she followed Lan Pinyu down the stairs, gripping her purse tightly. Her small hand trembled a bit!
Inside the mall, the dazzling array of goods dazzled Cheng Huan's eyes. She stood there in a daze until she heard Lan Pinyu's impatient urging, "What are you still standing there for? Get a cart!"
"Okay!" Cheng Huan snapped back to reality, hurriedly grabbed a shopping cart, and followed behind Lan Pinyu. With her meek and obedient appearance, she almost looked like a servant girl. Cheng Huan felt depressed!
For the first time witnessing someone shopping without looking at prices, casually throwing things into the cart, Lan Pinyu coldly surveyed all the things that should and shouldn't be bought. After only finishing one street, Cheng Huan felt the pushing force in her hands increase. Annoyed, she wrinkled her delicate eyebrows, starting to feel discontent.
"Is it enough?" Finally, Cheng Huan felt tired. She stopped walking, looked at Lan Pinyu with a puzzled gaze, and asked, "What do you want to do with all these things?"
"I can cook some simple home-cooked dishes," Cheng Huan replied, somewhat bewildered.
Lan Pinyu threw a cookbook into the shopping cart without even looking at her, and casually said, "I have a picky palate. You should try different recipes. This book can teach you!"
Cheng Huan widened her eyes, staring at the cookbook. She felt a sense of being looked down upon. She raised her head, glared at Lan Pinyu, tossed the shopping cart aside, and began to vent her dissatisfaction, "If you think I'm not qualified, you can change your mind now. I didn't force myself to be your housekeeper. Also, can you speak to people in a more moderate tone? It's the minimum respect between people!"
Lan Pinyu couldn't help but glance at the angry woman, admiring her petite figure. He looked at her with a calm expression for a moment. A hint of mockery appeared on his face as he spoke, "Individual styles differ. I might be a bit indifferent. You'll get used to it after some time."
"Hey, what do you mean by that?" Cheng Huan rolled her eyes. This man doesn't seem to understand basic manners. Since he knows he's a bit cold, why doesn't he change this bad habit? And he asks her to adapt instead? Really, does he realize why she should adapt to him?
"Okay, stop making a scene. Go and pay quickly! I'll be waiting for you in the car!" Lan Pinyu imperiously handed Cheng Huan a card and casually walked towards the exit.
"Hey, sir..." Cheng Huan stood dumbfounded in place, suddenly realizing a very serious problem—she didn't even know his name. With such a level of unfamiliarity, should she really do housework for him?
Looking at the gold card in her hand, Cheng Huan was once again stunned. However, the next challenge she faced was how to get these items back into the car.
Swiping the card, she walked out of the mall, dragging a large bag of goods back to the car with great difficulty. At this moment, beads of sweat had formed on her forehead, and she weakly knocked on the car door. The window slowly rolled down, revealing the composed face of Lan Pinyu, who was enjoying a melodious tune.
Cheng Huan stared blankly at this man who only knew how to indulge himself but seemed oblivious to the hardships of others. After a while, she sighed weakly. She didn't know if she was sick to have the thought of helping him. As a maid, as a laborer, she consoled herself, well, since he's a handsome guy, she won't argue with him.
Sitting in the car, Cheng Huan secretly glanced at him. In that brief moment of eye contact earlier, she actually saw a hint of innocence in his clear eyes. It was infuriating that such a cold and arrogant person could possess such pure eyes. Wasn't that too unfair?
Lan Pinyu started the car and slowly left the mall, fully focused on driving. The car played a lively English song, and although Cheng Huan couldn't understand the lyrics, she was drawn in by the gentle melody. Unconsciously, she forgot the annoyance from earlier and sank into a quiet drowsiness. It was indeed a perfect time for an afternoon nap.
Back at the villa, Lan Pinyu finally put aside his noble demeanor and took the initiative to carry the purchased items into the house. Cheng Huan got out of the car, her face filled with weariness. She had a habit of taking a short nap, and as long as she lay down quietly for half an hour, she would be energetic throughout the afternoon. But if she didn't rest well, she would feel drowsy.
"You go ahead, I'm going to take a nap. I'll cook for you tonight!" Cheng Huan pushed open the car door and casually threw out these words, then walked into her own villa without caring about the displeased dark gaze behind her.
Just as she was about to push the door, Cheng Huan suddenly remembered and turned back to ask, "By the way, what's your name?"
"Lan Pinyu!" The low voice uttered three words.
"Oh, I'm Cheng Huan!" Cheng Huan randomly revealed her name and closed the door.
After a delightful nap, Cheng Huan woke up when it was already past three in the afternoon. She freshened up and realized that she was starving. She sighed and had no choice but to knock on the door of the neighboring villa. After a while, the door was opened, and she entered, closing the door behind her.
As she walked in, she could hear music playing from afar. Cheng Huan sniffed and couldn't help but think, it turns out this man has good taste!
She turned through several rooms and finally saw Lan Pinyu's figure in the bedroom on the second floor. He was lying on the sofa, looking completely relaxed and lazy.
As Cheng Huan entered, he didn't show much reaction, just gave her a casual glance.
"I want to make something to eat, what do you want?"
"Turn to page fifty-two of the book; there's something I want to eat there!" Lazy words echoed in the room.
"Uh!" Cheng Huan was stunned.
"Don't understand? Follow what it says in the book. If it's not delicious, make it again until it suits my taste!" Lan Pinyu commanded imperiously, showing no consideration for Cheng Huan's feelings.
Cheng Huan's stomach was growling, and she didn't want to argue with him. She took the book, flipped to page fifty-two, only to find out that he wanted to eat pan-seared salmon with lemon juice, cod with blueberry sauce, and ham and shrimp pizza. Cheng Huan widened her beautiful eyes, almost speechless. These were all Western dishes, how was she supposed to learn them?
"I'm not familiar with Western cuisine! I only know how to make Chinese dishes. As a Chinese person, why don't you like your own country's cuisine?" Cheng Huan decided to argue with him.
Lan Pinyu cast a cold look at her, sitting up from the sofa with some irritation. "It's a matter of personal preference. I grew up in the West. If you suddenly ask me to eat something else, I won't be used to it!"
"Well, there's nothing I can do. How about hiring a professional chef? I only know how to cook Chinese dishes!" Cheng Huan refused to back down, showing determination in her eyebrows.
Lan Pinyu's handsome face flashed with impatience. He raised his hand, conceding, "Do as you like!"
Cheng Huan achieved a victory in her persistence, and a smile appeared on her delicate face. She turned and walked into the kitchen, starting to prepare the meal!
