"He transferred all his assets to you?"
Zhu Yawen asked in surprise, looking at Lu Qingyi in disbelief.
It was hard for her to believe that a man who was willing to relinquish all of his assets would treat his wife poorly.
"If I need your help, would you genuinely help me?"
Zhu Yawen took a deep breath and stared intently at Lu Qingyi.
She had decided to give Lu Qingyi a chance, and no matter what, her life couldn't possibly get any worse from where it stood.
She ran her fingers over the numerous scars on her arm, constant reminders of the risk of domestic abuse she faced.
"Meet me at Hardrick's office tomorrow."
Lu Qingyi nodded and then left.
Lu Qingyi was the renowned Professor Lu at Hardrick's office. Zhu Yawen was aware of this.
Zhu Yawen stared at Lu Qingyi's retreating figure until she was out of sight, then ordered another cup of black coffee.
