Xia Ning subconsciously halted in her tracks, her peripheral vision catching the man sitting beside her, that familiar profile...
Their eyes met, and Xia Ning didn't even know what expression to face Meng Yanxi with.
The man's features were just as she remembered, quietly watching her, and he said in a faint voice, "It's been a long time, Ningning."
Before she could fully hear the words 'Ningning,' Xia Ning ran off in a panic.
She wasn't prepared for a reunion with Meng Yanxi, at least not until she had fully moved on from that past; she didn't want to see him.
"Miss, are you alright?" She had run so fast that the passenger behind her looked at her with concern, "Did you just see a friend? Why didn't you say hello?"
"I don't know him," Xia Ning said, then found her seat and sat down.
She bowed her head, quickly took out her mobile phone, switched on airplane mode, and then started to zone out.
She thought back on her chat with Derek, feeling a hard-to-let-go dependence.
