Zhou Yinghuai looked at her with a serious expression. He didn't seem to be joking. He stated lightly, "Don't say you don't have any, or I would really kiss you."
Jiang Tan avoided testing the truth in Zhou Yinghuai's words. Like an obedient child, she nodded, her pair of eyes shining clear.
Zhou Yinghuai softened under her gaze. At that moment, he saw the old Jiang Tan before him again, all her sharp edges gone.
But it was only for a moment. They both knew that things could never go back to how they were before.
"Zhou Yinghuai." Jiang Tan found her voice again, expressing her discontent by calling his name, "I'm fine being here alone. You don't need to keep me company every day."
"Then who do you plan to let accompany you?" asked Zhou Yinghuai calmly.
Jiang Tan was stunned, "Can't I be alone? I can manage by myself."
It was quiet in the room. Zhou Yinghuai suddenly picked up a paper bag from the foot of his seat.
"If you're alone, who will buy you sweets?" he asked.
