Zhou Yinghuai walked up to Jiang Tan, casually reached out for the caramelized chestnuts, and asked, "Knowing you'd cry, why would you still watch it?"
Jiang Tan was very forthright, unabashedly blunt as she said, "Because, I want to give myself a reason to cry."
Zhou Yinghuai looked up, seriously meeting Jiang Tan's eyes.
"What is it that you can't get over?" he asked.
He didn't sound irritated or accusing, but more like he was seriously inquiring.
Laughing, Jiang Tan asked, "Can you help me get over it? Zhou Yinghuai, are you the wish-granting turtle in the Wishing Pool?"
Zhou Yinghuai said nothing, watching her quietly.
Only then did Jiang Tan realise that her joke had gone too far; hastily, she clarified, "Of course, I didn't mean to imply that you're a turtle."
As soon as she finished speaking, a plump chestnut was thrust into her hand.
Zhou Yinghuai asked, "Why buy so many chestnuts if you can't peel them?"
