For dinner, Gu Xiaobei heated up some steamed buns from the previous day and fried vinegar-soaked cabbage. He also made some millet porridge. Knowing that Lu Zhanguo liked spicy food, he sliced some pickled vegetables, added some green onion and chili pepper powder, and splashed it with hot oil.
Shortly after they sat down to eat, they were interrupted by a knock on the door. Lu Zhanguo stood up to answer it while Gu Xiaobei stayed behind to serve the porridge.
As the door opened, Chi Xiaoyue's voice rang out, "Brother Zhanguo, my cousin came by, he says he used to study with Xiaobei. So he wanted to visit since he doesn't know many people here yet."
