"There's a large troop mobilization in the south!" announced the Helferich soldier guarding Mathilde's southern gate.
One of his comrades walked over, standing tall in his armor. He looked in the same direction as the soldier, seeing a procession of soldiers marching neatly in a single column toward the city.
"Whose army is that?" the soldier asked.
"It seems to be Lord Helferich's army."
The red banner with the white eagle could not be clearly seen from a distance. However, the closer they walked, the more clearly the banner became visible to the two gate guards. They could confirm that the troops were from Helferich's army.
"Lord Quentin is coming to town; notify Sir Steven immediately!" said the soldier, ordering his subordinate on the south gate guard shift.
