Marcella rode swiftly away from Calden Castle towards the west, trailing Lord Quentin's retinue to summon Lord Norman and Lord Geoffrey back to Northcrest. She sped away from the castle, briefly crossing paths with Sir Dorren.
Sir Dorren had just returned from the city center, accompanied by an assistant. Marcella's hurried departure on Quentin's large black horse puzzled Sir Dorren.
"What's happened?" Sir Dorren asked, pausing in his steps momentarily.
Shortly after Marcella's departure, Violet and Lady Marie emerged from Calden Castle, retrieving their horses from the castle stables. One of Archibald's soldiers left the castle to reach the troop's inn, instructing them to be on guard for the return journey.
Sir Dorren redirected his gaze forward, observing Violet and Marie riding away from Calden Castle. He could clearly see the seriousness in their expressions.
