The next day.
Mathilde's northern border.
All the soldiers were ready, lined up in a long line with the cavalry in the front row, the infantry in the second row, and the archers in the third row.
The siege tower itself was in the infantry line, within enough distance to hit the northern city wall of Mathilde. Quentin sat tall and dignified on the saddle, followed by Norman, Geoffrey, and Leonil on the right and left while the captains were in the front row of their own soldiers.
Hundreds of archers were at the top of the city walls, and the rest were at the gates with the soldiers of the other divisions. Now, it was certain that the two armies from different sides were facing each other.
"It doesn't look like Noah is in the line of soldiers," Norman replied, looking clearly ahead; only the soldier captain was leading them.
