"Dieter?" asked Howard's assistant. The news came as a surprise to him as he didn't want to suspect Dieter was the mastermind of The Sun.
But Howard was different. He was pleased, relieved, and satisfied when he realized Dieter had something to do with The Sun. Blaine's explanation was proof enough of Dieter's involvement with The Sun.
"You can't mess with this, or I will cut out your tongue!" said Howard's assistant.
The young man didn't mean to defend Dieter but to confirm the truth of the information. It could be that Blaine had come to trap Howard in their dirty game, which they had never known about.
Howard raised his right hand, asking his assistant not to pressure Blaine. Howard's assistant nodded, realizing he had overreacted.
"I'm not joking. You can gather the names of those people and interrogate them. I'm sure they'll say the same thing," Blaine explained, speaking matter-of-factly with nothing covered up.
