The police arrived as usual for an investigation.
Inspector Talvade looked at the crime scene. Everybody said that the hospital was the last stop before death, but in this case, the hospital had become the first crime scene.
"So have you investigated all the doctors and related personnel here?"
"No Sir, because this is a hospital the influx of people will be huge. So we are not able to determine the scope of the incident", Constable Karan answered anxiously.
Then investigate the doctor first. Once you can take out their investigative notes, you can go ahead with relatives and other patients who were there here. Do you want me to spoon-feed you every time?" Talvade asked angrily. Constable Karan looked downward to not get affected by Inspector Talvade's anger-filled gaze.
After a short while, Inspector Talvade was filled with disappointment. The autopsy had already taken place with doctors' and nurses' handprints prominently pressed on the ventilator.
But these people lacked the motive.
Basically, in this case, evidence was everywhere. But they were not able to get the compelling one that could nab the suspect.
The other reason for his annoyance was teammates or simply, in other words, rookies.
Because this was a town hospital, it had the basic amenities of the town ...but the crime rate was relatively lower. This made the constables who were investigating this case determine that this was a one time.
Hence, the excitement. But as the person leading them, Inspector Talvade could feel the excitement and the pressure related to this case.
But he could not find a direction in which he should go.
As he was pondering about his thoughts, he was startled by a hand on his shoulder.
As he turned behind he saw a young man eying at him with the most apologetic expression on his face.
" Sorry… Could you please move aside? I am not able to go to the washroom with you standing here"
" Oh… Ok." Inspector Talvade moved out flustered.
" Thank you", Haran went to the washroom.
As soon as he came back he was greeted by Talvade's questioning eyes.
"Well… what were you doing at the time this killing incident happened?"
Talvade questioned routinely. It was a routine inquiry, but you could guess from Talvade's gaze that he was expecting some extra information that had gone unnoticed.
" Well, we did not notice anything… As you can see, I am patient here and at the time of the incident I was with my mother." Haran's tit-to-tat words doused Talvade's expectation.
" If you want If you can tell me regarding the incident. If I remember any unusual circumstances, I may be able to help you out", but Talvade impatiently waved his hand off.
"Sir, a murder is not an immediate product. Before making a big decision, the person may have gone through many thought processes and simulations which he may be unaware of, but it will be remembered by the surrounding people. If you can check on that, you will be able to nab the murderer as soon as possible."
"And how do you have this much thorough knowledge about this?" Inspector Talvade asked sarcastically.
" Well…. I am an aspiring author to be exact…so I am reasoning based on my imagination."
"What you have said is not entirely wrong? "Inspector Talvade nodded his head slowly as though in retrospection." So can you help me out based on your imagination?"
" Even a clever wife can't cook rice without ingredients, sir… If you can tell me the facts of the case, I may be able to construct the plot according to my imagination and, may point you in a more suitable direction", Haran said patiently. Now it was only him to wait patiently so that the fish would bite the hook.
