Chapter 9 - Chapter 8

The next day Rayan woke Jeanne up, more motivated than before, and ate the breakfast Isabella had prepared.

Without waiting for Jeanne, he went outside and headed for a less crowded place.

Retrieving the rings from his inventory, he began filling them with prana.

Under the influence of magic, the weight of the rings began to increase in direct proportion, until Rayan himself felt the necessary heaviness.

Rayan didn't know how many kilograms these rings weighed at the moment and he didn't really care.

"I should divide the workouts of different body parts. From my arms, legs, and torso. Otherwise I'll get completely fatigued..." - Rayan thought, feeling the heaviness of the rings in his hands. "I think an hour and a half should be enough."

An hour and a half later...

Rayan was in a sweat. His muscles ached and whimpered monstrously, wishing he would stop the agony.

His sighs were erratic, intermittent.

"Still Gray was right, 400 kilogrammes and I'm done. I'm completely weak." - Rayan said slightly bitterly. Rayan realized that the sensations were completely different from the actual capabilities.

Feeling the pain in his muscles, he let go of the rings and stopped supplying them with energy, making the weight in them disappear.

Returning the rings to his inventory, he made his way back home, wanting to wash and rest.

Upon reaching home, he was greeted by Jeanne, who pouted slightly. "Where have you been?" - She asked.

Rayan smiled awkwardly. "I decided to take a walk, the weather is nice enough today." - Pointing to the shining sun, he said. Jeanne gave him a slightly dubious look, but decided to believe him.

Jeanne returned to the her room and Rayan immediately took a shower.

Sitting on the bollard and washing his body, he began to get back into the flow of his thoughts. "A lot has happened since I came into this world... My meeting with Jeanne and Isabella... A new purpose..." - Rayan thought with a smile. He was definitely glad that he had met these people in this world.

Their smiles had become something special to him. Coming to this world, he didn't have any special goals like the other protagonists.

Conquering the world? Building a harem? Finding his past? Becoming the strongest?

He wasn't interested in any of that. All he wanted was a life that was measured and full of color. Where love welcomed him. Where the only emotion he felt was happiness. Where he felt safe.

Perhaps he was selfish. Perhaps he was naive. He was probably stupid.

He understood - his goals required a corresponding effort.

Rinsing himself with water, he snapped back to reality.

A sigh escaped his lips. "I should get into this kind of state less..."

Wiping himself off with a towel, he put on his clothes and walked out of the bathroom.

"It would be worth testing my eyes." - Muttering that, he walked out of the house and headed towards the forest. He wanted to devote most of his time to improvement, and testing his eyes for their shortcomings and capabilities would be worth it.

When he arrived at the forest, he spread his senses and found a small boar about 100 meters away.

Noiselessly and deftly creeping through the bushes and trees, he found it eating a rabbit.

Suddenly his eyes became cold. They shone with a brilliant blue light...

The boar felt constrained. Something prevented him from moving, from moving even a single muscle. He froze like a statue...

Even a creature like him realized, Death was behind him...

It was as if the reaper's scythe stood over his neck and only seconds separated him from the depths of purgatory...

Rayan, who had already pulled his sword out of his inventory, activated his eyes.

A line emanating from the boar stretched before his gaze. He knew, in order to kill the boar in front of him, cutting that line would be enough...

For some reason, at this moment, Rayan felt...Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Any life was losing meaning in his eyes. Even thinking about Jeanne, he felt complete indifference towards her and her death...

Perhaps that was the price he had to pay for those eyes...

Shaking his head, he jerkily cut that line immediately.

The boar fell to the ground with a thud, completely motionless.

Rayan felt a slight chill in his limbs. "This is the power of 'death'..." - he thought dispassionately.

Rayan decided to turn off the ability of his eyes, and as if in the blink of an eye, his 'heart' seemed to return to normal.... His emotions were brought back.

Cold sweat slowly dripped down from Rayan's forehead. He wasn't horrified by the power of the eyes, but rather alarmed. Wouldn't that make him a mindless killing machine?

He had no idea what he looked like from the outside...

After calming his own heartbeat and emotions, he returned home.

It was already evening outside and his mind was drained from the use of his eyes...

Laying down on the bed, he immediately passed out.

His mind was desperate to find peace and distance himself from his problems...
