A groan escaped Caleb Li's mouth as he retreated a few steps, shaking his head from the aftershock. The Shataki wasn't faring any better.
He retreated as his tendrils swayed violently, his face etched with shock and confusion.
"Human..." he called, his voice filled with rage and humiliation.
He was humiliated. As an elite Shataki, he should dominate everyone, including this mere human. Receiving his attack should have been a privilege, and dying from his punch should have been the human's honor.
Yet, he couldn't gain the upper hand against this human.
His rage swelled, threatening to consume him.
