Caleb Li held his breath, his heart pounding heavily against his chest.
This was the closest he had come to being dead for the second time.
He looked at the endless corridor on both sides and wiped off the beads of sweat from his forehead.
If he had been slow by a mere fraction of a second, he would have turned into a meat paste.
Huh!
He got up from the floor and dusted off the dirt from his clothes.
"I hate mazes!" he grumbled and took a random direction.
With what just happened, he knew this maze was dangerous, and a slight mistake would lead to his doom.
Thus, he took each step as carefully as possible.
Walking for some minutes, Caleb Li did not encounter anything. The corridor was eerily dark, with everything still as if there was no wind.
Just as he took another turn, entering a wide corridor, he heard various clanking sounds coming from the distance.
"What is that sound?"
