" unhhhh~Ahaaa"
As Lucas finally finished his marathon session in the library, he stretched his weary limbs with a groan that sounded like a chorus of rusty hinges being coaxed into action. His body protested every inch of movement, as if each stretch was a negotiation between muscles and gravity, with gravity usually winning.
With a comical grimace, he contorted his face into a series of exaggerated expressions. His groans and grunts echoed through the quiet confines of the library, drawing amused glances from nearby bookshelves and sympathetic looks from the quiet walls who understood the struggle all too well.
But despite the cacophony of sounds emanating from his direction, there was an unmistakable sense of satisfaction in his demeanor, a victorious aura that accompanied the completion of his short quest. He may have emerged from the library looking like a character from a slapstick comedy, but deep down, he knew that his efforts had not been in vain.
And so, with one final stretch and a satisfied sigh, he gathered his books and prepared to depart, ready to face whatever challenges awaited him outside the hallowed halls of the library. After all, if he could survive five hours of intense studying without falling asleep on a pile of textbooks, he could conquer just about anything the world had to throw at him.
[Lucas POV]
As Lucas emerged from the library, he let out a dramatic sigh of relief, as if he had just survived a thrilling adventure in the land of dusty tomes and looming bookshelves.
"Ah, freedom at last!" he exclaimed, his voice echoing off the walls like a triumphant declaration. "I feel like I've just escaped from a literary prison, and my books were the wardens!"
As he stepped out into the sunlight, he shielded his eyes theatrically, as if the mere sight of the sun was a revelation too bright to bear.
"Behold, the majestic orb of day!" he proclaimed, pointing dramatically at the sun. "I've been studying so long, I forgot what real light looked like!"
A passing squirrel chittered in response, and Lucas nodded solemnly in agreement. "Yes, my furry friend, I feel your pain. We're both creatures of the library now, forever bound by the sacred oath of the study session."
As he ambled down the path, Lucas couldn't help but notice the grass swaying in the breeze, as if welcoming him back to the land of the living.
"Ah, nature," he sighed, taking a deep breath of fresh air. "The great outdoors! I've heard rumors of its existence, but I never thought I'd see it with my own eyes again."
Suddenly, a gust of wind whipped through the trees, sending a flurry of leaves dancing through the air. Lucas watched in awe, his eyes wide with wonder.
"Ah, the dance of the leaves!" he exclaimed, twirling in a clumsy imitation of their graceful movements. "Truly, nature's ballet! I must remember to bring my tutu next time."
And with that, Lucas sauntered off into the sunset, his laughter ringing out like a melody in the quiet afternoon air. For in that moment, he knew that no matter how long he spent buried in books, there was always room for a little laughter and a lot of absurdity in the grand comedy of life.
Today was a very productive day except the morning, with the basic information I also learned about magic circles and its working
Magic Circles:
Magic circles are intricate symbols or patterns drawn or inscribed on surfaces, typically the ground or a floor, to aid in the casting of spells or the invocation of magical powers.
They serve as focal points for channeling mana or magical energy, amplifying the effects of spells and rituals performed within their confines.
Magic circles can vary in complexity and design, with each symbol carrying specific meanings and associations tied to the type of magic being practiced.
In light novels, magic circles are often depicted as glowing symbols that illuminate when activated, creating a visually striking spectacle during magical incantations and rituals.
It is also the same here but the symbols and words seems like Sanskrit language from my old world. So, it became even more easy to remember them.
Magic devices are made with the help of magic circles and are used by either using a mana stone or your own mana. With the help of my photographic memory I was able to remember the whole book. I will try to make something simple in the future.
I left the academy It was currently 5:00 according to my internal clock in the evening. I dont have any thing to do urgently so, I should just look for a place to rent, Lucas was previously leaving in the commoners dormatry which houses 5 person in a single room, with no privacy, And privacy is the first priority for me.
I came infront of the merchant guild, where I can find out about renting the place, I am going to rent a place for 3 months after that I will leave the capital to travel around the world, I have to also make some money and sent it to my parents in this world so, they can rest assured that their son is safe and doing well, as for Elisa I don't want to think about her.
After the previous Lucas died because of her noble boyfriend, I don't even want see their faces, even I don't know what I might do to them, ' Ha Ha even in my previous life I hated NTR to my core, and residing in the body of a NTRed bastard fate sure played it's game'
Their are four types of guild here in this world, which a webnovels fan like myself and others can understand by name alone, even then I will just simplify it.
- Adventure Guild : A place to gather rowdy and thrill seeking bunch of people's who accept commissions from guild and dive in dungeons or in dangerous forest, while fighting monsters.
- Magic Guild - A place for magicians, People who seek to pursue magic can join the guild, Magic Guild also gives out commissions and are the best place for scholars to dive deep into magical history.
-Merchant guild - This guild is a organization to gather every merchants in the world under one banner, which helps it maintain economic balance around the world. Every one aspiring to become a merchant registeres here and go under a training with a expert senior merchants before starting out solo. It is also the guild which put price tag on every thing being sold in the world.
-Craftsman guild- It is a guild to gather craftsman, basically a construction company which make anything from sword to house or even golems with order and needed materials. Well it comes with a price.
I entered the small branch of the merchant guild, the interior was preety much like a bank interior on earth, but with a middle age furniture and floorings, Their were four counters and three were already packed, I approached the counter with a lady receptionist doing some paperworks.
" Excuse me, Miss I would like to make a request"
" Oh, sorry sir I was so invested in my work that I failed to notice you, I a very sorry sir" she Lifts her head up from the stack of papers and apologize to Lucas.
" No, it's okay Miss I respect people who take their work seriously" I said smiling a little.
" Thank you sir, and welcome to the merchant guild branch 24"she stood up and bowed a little.
" How may I help you sir " she said while smiling.
" Um, yes, miss I want to reant a house or a room for around 3 months, I figured that renting a room might be cheaper than staying at inn for a extended period of time."
" In that case sir our guild has launched a new system of lodging for travellers who need to stay months long for business and find the inns to be quite expensive, So, would you like to try the lodging"
" Can you explain a little bit more "
" Sure sir, I will summarise it in simple points
-The lodging can only be accessed by those who wants to stay more than three weeks.
- The price will depend on the time duration and number of rooms rented.
- You will be provided food in the lodging but will have to pay for it yourself.
- Their are some simple rules as not disturbing the neighbours during your stay and others which will be explained at the lodging the lodge manager.
Listening to the explanation it is quiet good and economi friendly as well, but it reeks of earthly knowledge,
" Miss, can I ask you who came up with this idea, if it does not pose a problem" I asked a little hesitantly, because no one wants share their business secret with others
" Oh, No it doesn't pose a problem, actually it was the idea of one of our branch manager who met with the heros , while in their training, at that time the hero's happy with the hospitality imparted their knowledge as a thanks for good service, at that time the branch manager got an idea about if we could make something similar here, So, he contacted the main guilds Manager and with the help of a meeting between managers some changes were made and we just started trial phase to get review of customers, and if it is a success it will be implanted to every city."
Seems like I was right about the hero's distributing their earthly knowledge like it is a lollipop, I hope and don't want see firearms in this magical world, it will just ruin the entire world.
Anyway I am benefiting from the lodging so, I should consider it good, right.
" Then miss I would like to lodge for three months, by the way my name is Lucas"
" Thank you sir for trying our new facility, and my name is Tanya and if you have any things business related problems you can count on the merchant guild" She said happily.
Then we proceed towards making a magical contract,
It is a means of keeping a promise between two parties by magic, if any one party betray the promise than the contract will make them suffer eternally until they fullfill their promise , But I don't have any kind of plan to test the contract or it's validity.
I already know about contract from the books I read in the library.
After finishing the necessary procedure she gave me the location and I left the guild for the lodging.
" Thanks for the help Miss Tanya, then I will be going" Extending my hand for a handshake.
" Thank you for your patronage sir, I hope you visit us again" she shakes my hand firmly with a beautiful smile.
