Nicholas blinked a few times as he regained consciousness.
'Ugh... that bastard knocked me out! And why am I wet?' he thought as he tried to sit up still feeling groggy.
*Bang!*
Nicholas suddenly fell back down on the puddle of water beneath him as someone stomped on his chest.
"Oh, so you're awake huh?" Nicholas heard a calm voice close to him.
The hit had made Nicholas come to his senses, now wide awake he moved his head to look at the person that had his foot on him. It was a young man not much older that Nicholas but he was certainly taller but had a lean and slender body. He had long black hair, deep black eyes and his unreadable expression made Nicholas nervous.
"Hello Don," Nicholas calmly replied.
Looking past Don he tried to take a good look at where he was, although he couldn't see much he knew he was In some kind of warehouse, most of the building was still intact but there were holes in the roof and through those holes he was able to see the red evening sky, it seemed like he had been out for along time.
Inside the warehouse were stacks of boxes, most of them were made of silver metal and the rest were made of some kind of black coloured alloy and scattered across the place.
Nicholas' thoughts were interrupted when the doors to the warehouse was opened and a large man - the same one that chased Nicholas and Micheal - walked in and bowed.
"Boss we were able to find out where he had hidden it," the large man said still bowing.
"That's good, bring in the person that helped you," Don said.
"Of course boss," the large man said and left.
Don turned his head to look at Nicholas and said, "I've finally found it, you thought I wouldn't didn't you? But the thing is I wouldn't have found it if you hadn't been so truthful and trusting with your friend."
And for the first time Don's expression had changed to one of scorn then he continued;
"I can't believe that you're my brother, my brother won't try to hide something like that from me."
"No! I'm not your brother! Not ever! Not anymore!" Nicholas shouted, he was angry and scared, he was angry of the fact that Don said he was his brother after all that he had done and he was scared because when Don mentioned 'friend', one person came to his mind; Micheal.
'No, it can't be, this has to be some kind of joke, right?'
Nicholas felt like he was in some kind of nightmare and that nightmare suddenly became more horror when the doors were opened again and the large man walked in followed by... Micheal.
*A couple of hours ago*
After the large man had given his orders the ones he had sent after Michael had caught up quickly as he wasn't running but sitting, waiting for them in a collapsed building that had been prepared before hand.
"So do you have it or not?" One of the men named Hank, asked.
"Yes, I have it, I can take you there now but I have to iron out our deal first," Micheal replied with a serious face.
"No. I can't do that, it's not my position to do so," Hank replied.
"Well I would like to here what you have to say," a voice came from the entrance.
Hearing the voice the two men immediately knew who it was and bowed while saying,
"We greet the boss!"
Not even looking at them Don continued staring to Micheal and said again with his calm voice;
"I would like to hear your requests."
Micheal who was in shock had followed the other two to bow. He couldn't believe it, he was talking to the boss of the fallen sun gang.
"Can't you speak?" Don asked, it was hard to tell if he was angry because he never raised his voice or changed his facial expression and it was always hard to read.
"I'm sorry sir, my request was that you would give me full protection from Nicholas and that you would give me a position in your organization sir."
"Hm? Is that all?" Don seemed quite surprised.
"Yes sir."
"That's good, now take me to the item," Don said.
"Right this way sir." Micheal raised his head as began leading Don and the other men.
It took about ten minutes but Micheal and the three men had reached the said location. It was a graveyard, the place was unkempt and destroyed, just like everywhere else in the outlands.
Micheal continued to lead them until he came to a stop in front of a broken headstone it looked to be in a worse condition that the other ones.
"This is that place if you dig for about 3 feet you will see a black box in it with the item," Micheal pointed to a partcular spot.
"You two start digging," Don said to the two men behind him and to Micheal he said, "Let's hope it's there."
Don had left while Hank and his partner started digging, they did as instructed and guided by Micheal they found the black box - the size of the ones used to keep jewelry - which they pulled out and took back to thier base.
***Present time***
"Micheal?" Nicholas muttered, his hands shaking.
"Now Brooke go get me the item, it's time for the unveiling," Don said to the large man and smirked.
The large man, Brooke was shocked for a bit because since he knew Don he had never seen him smile or smirk or frown or anything, he only had that hard to read express on his face.
"Why are you standing there?" Don asked no longer smirking.
"I'm sorry sir!" Brooke said and walked away.
"Well I have to commend you for doing a good job so I will give you the position you asked for," Don said as he moved away from Nicholas and walked over to Micheal.
Even after he was no longer being stepped on Nicholas didn't get up, he was still trying to process what had just happened; the person he considered a friend... had betrayed him without a second thought. This was all too much for him.
While Nicholas was lost in thought Brooke had returned with the black box and gave it to Don.
"Here brother come look at me, holding the thing you so much wished to hide from me," Don said as he walked over to Nicholas.
"Brooke come and lift him up."
Brooke did as he was told and lifted Nicholas up.
"Micheal what have you done?" Nicholas said in a quiet voice as if all the strength had been sapped from him for he knew that his brother would kill anyone who stood in his way.
"Oh brother, don't look at him look at me." Don smiled, pulling Nicholas' face to face him.
"Now I will wear it and be granted power," Don said with a maniac laugh as he opened the box and took out an object from it.
It was a ring made of some kind of black material with a red gem on top of it, there were intricate designed on the body of the ring making it look exquisite, Don took out the ring and put it on, and once he did, the gem on the ring lit up.
While all this was happening Micheal was absentminded, the word brother kept ringing in his head.
'So Don was Nicholas' brother and no one knew.'
Once the ring lit up Don closed his eyes feeling the power coursing through his body after a while he opened his eyes which had a tint of red in it
"Don, please stop," Nicholas pleaded.
"Thank you for your services brother, but they are no longer needed," Don said and with a speed to fast for ordinary eyes to see he broke all of Nicholas' joints.
"ARGHHHHH...!!!" Nicholas shouted as he heard snapping sound and then traumatic pain from all his joints.
"It wasn't nice having a brother like you, I wish mom and dad were here to see you die, and by the way I killed danny and cassie" Don said... and then snapped Nicholas' neck.
