Unfortunately, what Madeline said was far from his expectations.
"Please don't do this to me, Zane. I saw you as a friend, nothing more, nothing less," Madeline said firmly. She didn't want to play a game of cat and mouse again with Zane.
She wanted Zane to know her true feelings.
