Chapter 133 - Clash of Wills

"Esteemed messenger, what brings you here?" Adal greeted flatteringly while rubbing his palms together.

His demeanor had shifted dramatically from his previous arrogance. Now, there wasn't a trace of it left on his face. Instead, he wore a wide, flattering smile as he greeted the man who had just entered the room. He seemed like a tamed dog meeting its master, eager to please and obedient to every command.

"I was just wondering why it's taking you two so darn long to deal with a measly piece of trash." The aloof man swept his eyes across the room with a disdainful gaze, finally settling on Lothar. "You still haven't finished him off?"

"We were just getting to it," Adal hastily explained, worried the man might get mad. "The poison was just starting to work. He's tougher than we thought."
