"What's going on? What were you running from?" Eris asked urgently. She tried to see through behind Austin but found nothing there.
Austin felt a bit relieved hearing Eris's voice and sighed. "After you left, something happened."
He proceeded to recount his encounter with the mysterious object, starting from the moment the murloc's corpse began to undergo anomaly.
After he told her the story, there was a moment of silence before Eris spoke up thoughtfully. "Mystical gear..."
"Sorry?"
"I reckon that thing that's been chasing you might just be a mystical gear. While various factors can cause anomalies in a corpse, the sudden appearance of an object post-death often indicates it's a mystical gear left behind by the deceased." Eris mused, casting a glance at Austin's middle finger. "Didn't you mention that the mysterious object vanished right after it seemed to slip into your middle finger?"
