Chapter 44 - Never bow

I ignored his warning and sat on the bed leisurely. When I landed on the books on the table, I recalled that I stopped reading last night and took them into my hands. Nearly after two hours, I hear the footsteps approaching the room where I am in. So after closing the book and placing it on the table, I walked back to the bed and sat on it.

As expected, the door to my room opened, revealing Mike. I looked at his face, which stated that he was sulking. "What happened to your girlfriend?" I questioned him carelessly.

"Are you really human? She is your friend, and instead of being worried about her well-being, you are showing arrogance," he commented. I glared at him sharply, saying, "If she is my best friend in real life, I would have cared for her more than you think. I know what she did and even after knowing what she did I won't just sit and watch. Yop, I know nothing happened to heroes; why should I be worried for her?" I snapped at him.
