Chapter 998 - Chapter 677 Salesman and Porter (Part 1) _1

Solus swallowed, currently greatly perplexed. Prior to landing, he had meticulously surveilled this universe and had found no high-energy life form here. So where did this multidimensional level creature spring forth from?

Although the Morlun Family might be considered of a multidimensional universe level, their power was somewhat inflated.

Firstly, they are herd animals, much like humans who occupy Earth, thereby becoming the principal civilization.

However, can a single human take down a tiger? An unarmed adult facing a powerful beast would most likely end up as fodder, without any other alternatives,

Collaborating is the biggest advantage of herd animals, similarly, animals with social behavior don't develop excessive individual strength. This also holds true for the Morlun Family; they survive in the multiverse through collaboration. Still, if we consider a single member, they couldn't stand up to any of the inhabitants at the multidimensional level.

Therefore, prior to entering a single-verse, they would thoroughly investigate whether there are any organisms that could threaten them within it. They definitely would not have imagined that in this universe where they currently reside, there would be someone who could ascend to another level at will, and even decline back when not desired.

Thus, when they saw the multilevel Iron Demon Stark, they were abruptly petrified.

But Stark didn't give them the chance to contemplate. In an instant, the storm of the mechanical troops enveloped every member of the Morlun Family. The formation composed of all kinds of machinery induced an unparalleled oppression.

The roar of the engine, the friction of the gears, in the soundless expanse of the universe, subtle tremors transformed into deafening ripples. When the Morlun Family decided to retreat, they discovered that the surrounding space has already been filled by diverse mechanical life.

Seeing his family members continuously striking the barrier formed by the mechanical beings, Solus shouted, "Stay calm! All of you, stay calm! Drain their energy, the same way we dealt with the Cosmic Sorcerer!"

Through the initial chaos, the members of the Morlun Family finally managed to calm down slightly, beginning to formulate tactics, and get ready to break out of this encirclement.

Solus took the lead, stretching out one hand towards a mechanical monster. Upon his hand emerged a gentle white light which then transformed into a fluctuating light beam, connecting to the body of the intended target.

The moment the white light came into contact with the robot, it froze in place. Seeing that his attack was effective, Solus hastened to replicate his tactic. However, during the time it took him to strike one robot down, thousands of mechanical troops already surrounded him.

All of a sudden, Solus realized that the robots closest to him showed no change at all. But the newly produced robots on the outskirts were becoming smaller in size and larger in quantity.

Previously, the Morlun Family had used their natural talent and numerical advantage to divide and conquer the energy of the Cosmic Sorcerer. The Sorcerer may be able to handle a few of them, but the sheer number and dispersion of targets overwhelmed it, causing it to struggle to attack multiple moving targets simultaneously.

An attack on a single entity can only immobilize one or two, while an attack on the mass requires a lot of energy, and was easy to dodge. Leveraging this principle, they could wear out any mildly strong Cosmis Sorcerer through attrition alone.

But now, the situation has completely reversed, Solus has become the Sorcerer that was being besieged by them, and the mechanical army produced by Iron Demon Stark has quickly spotted the weak point of the Morlun Family and evolved a specific offensive method targeting them.

The Morlun Family indeed has strong energy draining capabilities, but the problem is, they are primarily individual attackers. Even if Solus's light beam can absorb the energy of three to four targets simultaneously, what they are facing is an army made up of billions of mechanical troops.

Depleting the energy of one or two robots is useless. The produced robots are not directly powered by Stark's magical energy; they have their own engines and the hive has its own reactor. They are entirely self-sufficient; the time it takes the Morlun Family to drain one robot is enough for the hive to produce a thousand more.

Moreover, there is an upper limit to the absorbable energy of the Morlun Family. They can't continuously absorb and process. After absorption, they must find a safe place to convert this energy into usable power to continue fighting.

But, in their current situation, how can there be any safe environment for them to digest the absorbed energy? The mechanical army steadily pushed for an attack, if they did not drain the energy of the nearest robots, they might be attacked or killed. But if they drained all their energy, they would risk overloading.

The Morlun Family was caught in a bind, Solus knew that this couldn't go on.

Now, there were roughly three types of robots before him. The first was small in size but extremely fast flying birds. They disrupted the formation of the Morlun Family by making it impossible for them to aim accurately and by undertaking kamikaze attacks, resulting in them hindering one another, unable to maintain effective defensive formation.

The second type was of medium size, forming the main defensive forces as Mechanical Shield Guards. When they came together, they formed a sturdy wall, constantly releasing energy pulses to disrupt the Morlun Family's teleportation, whilst continuing to narrowing the encirclement, leaving them with less and less room to maneuver.
