Chapter 883 - Chapter 600: Killing the Eagle with a Borrowed Knife (Part 1) _2

"So, these two men could very well be adversaries of the KGB, enemies of the KGB... Could it be the CIA?" Clark frowned, scratching his head, "Is the CIA really that low? Knowing I have superpowers, they're framing others, expecting me to use my superpowers to deal with them?"

"Every intelligence agency in the world is just as devious; one can't be in this business without sinister means," Bat Cat shook his head."

"Well, in that case, I don't have much choice. I can't go against my country's intelligence agencies on my own country's soil, can I? My parents still live here." Clark said, somewhat frustrated.

"Hold on, let's first take a look at these two men, see if we can find any evidence on them. If they have left any evidence, it may give you the upper hand."

Bat Cat hopped down from the table and began to circle the two men. He thoroughly checked their clothes pockets, then had Clark flip them over for a closer examination of the eyes and mouths.

These two men didn't carry anything; that made the badge they held even more suspicious. Clark sighed and said, "I'll fly them out for now and drop them off in a secluded spot; otherwise, if someone finds them, I'll be in trouble."

Clark glanced at the clock and exclaimed, "Now! I must hurry, their class will be over soon!"

When Clark returned after tossing the two men away in a corner of an alley, he saw Pikachu and Bat Cat conversing through the window. Without overthinking it, he directly flew through the window.

"Hey! We just thought of a solution." Pikachu waved at Clark and said, "You're on your own, with no clear path. But you can ask your friends for help."

"Ask for help from friends? Who can help me? The CIA is on the other side, who can deal with them?"

Pikachu leapt onto Clark's shoulder. Clark turned to look at him and Pikachu said, "Have you forgotten? You still have to deliver me to someone from the Luthor family. I don't want to continue staying with this annoying cat, let's find him."

"The Luthor Family are big shots in Metropolis. They also own one of the world's leading corporations. If they want to contact the CIA and warn them, it would definitely be easier for them than you."

After some thinking, Clark found Pikachu's point reasonable. Despite being a small-town young man, Lex Luthor was now the only representative of the Luthor Family. They had met at the Mayor's Manor last time, and Clark felt that he had a good relationship with Lex.

Even if it meant owing Lex a favor, he had to ensure that his parents wouldn't be targeted by any intelligence agency. Clark, troting with Pikachu's pet case, knocked on the grand door of Luthor Manor.

In Luthor Manor, Lex was wearing a neck brace, with the butler assisting him to adjust it. His chin was visibly bruised, and it was clear what had caused it.

Upon hearing the knock, Lex flashed a startled look and waved a hand at his butler, "If it's my father's old friends, tell them I'm injured and recovering. Business can be discussed later."

The butler nodded and left. A while later, he returned and told Lex, "It's a man who claims to be Clark Kent, carrying a pet box. He looks like a university student."

Lex's eyes widened for a moment before he said to the butler, "Let him in."

Once inside, Clark couldn't help but gaze at the luxurious decor of Luthor Manor. Lex stood at the hall's center, arms crossed and asked, "Well? You've probably never seen a house like this in the countryside, right?"

"Indeed, my log cabin can't compare to this." Clark walked forward, gazing upwards and nearly walked into a table. He clumsily did a quick sidestep and praised the surroundings incessantly.

Lex's sarcastic comments were forced back as he could tell that Clark wasn't being ironic, but genuinely admiring. Lex decided not to mock Clark for his lack of worldliness given the situation, as it would seem petty.

So he simply pursed his lips and told his butler, "Prepare dinner."

"Oh, are you inviting me to dinner? That's great; I've only had a hot dog this morning and have been busy till now, so I'm quite famished." Clark touched his stomach."

Lex originally wanted to say 'Speak up if you have something to say, don't disturb my dinner,' but Clark's words left him no chance. If he were to refuse now, it would make him seem petty.

Within three minutes of their meeting, Lex was left speechless twice by Clark. The good news was that his chin no longer hurt, the bad news was his chest did.

Lex exhaled, turned around and walked into the room, asking, "What's the matter with you? Are you here to brag about chasing another plane today?"

"Hmm, how did you know... Wait, that's not why I'm here. I'm here to deliver this." Clark caught up with Lex, stopped him, and set the pet box in front of him.

As soon as the pet box opened, a yellow mouse popped out. Lex flinched back, then heard the mouse say, "Hey, Little Luthor, I am your teacher's pet, Shiller. His manor was bombed, so he sent me here for you to take care of."

Lex widened his eyes and looked at Clark, who raised his hands and shrugged, implying 'it's as simple as that.'

"You're Professor Shearer's pet?" Lex squinted at Pikachu and said, "But that makes sense. Who else in this world could have a talking rat?"

"Well, he doesn't just talk." Clark shook his head, "He can also produce electricity."

"Produce electricity? Really? Show me." Lex said with great interest, staring at Pikachu.

Just then, Clark extended a hand, stopping Pikachu, who was warming up, and told Lex, "No, you'd better not have him try it in here."

"Why not?"

"Didn't you hear him earlier? Shearer's Manor was bombed."

"So what?"

"Guess, how did the manor explode?"
