Chapter 803 - Chapter 550: When the Flame is Ignited (Part 1)_1

Stark looked at Shiller with some surprise and found that Shiller's expression was very serious and not joking. He also frowned and looked at Dr. Pym.

Dr. Pym was confused by their behavior. He scratched his head and asked, "What's the matter? What do you mean, 'Did I forget?' What did I forget?"

Seeing Stark and Shiller both staring at him, Pym explained: "Yes, I am researching artificial intelligence, but the direction is different from Howard's previous research…"

"I believe that human brain waves are very magical. If we want to grant intelligent life a real soul, we can combine it with our brainwaves to create it so that we can achieve…"

Shiller interrupted him. "I'm sorry, Dr. Pym. Right now, the most urgent matter is that I need to confirm your mental state and see if you have been hypnotized."

The reason Shiller did this was that, in the original comic, Ultron was not created by Stark and the Hulk, but indeed by Ant-man Dr.Pym.

The principle was similar to what Dr. Pym had just explained: Dr. Pym combined his brain waves with an intelligent lifeform, causing this AI to develop true self-awareness. This AI later became Ultron.

After Ultron gained self-consciousness, he began to hate his creator. He attacked Dr. Pym and hypnotized him, causing him to completely forget that he had created Ultron.

Ultron's hypnosis was very successful, giving him plenty of time to evolve himself. He continually caused trouble for The Avengers after his emergence.

Ultron has a strong ability to hypnotize. In the comics, he had even hypnotized Stark, forcing Stark to create a body for him: Ultron 9. This body was soaked in a solution, giving it an indestructible shell.

Shiller's demeanor was gentle, so Pym quickly calmed down. He frowned and asked, "You think there's a problem with my mental state? Which aspect specifically?"

"I suspect that you may have been hypnotized," Shiller looked at Pym and said.

"But we just met. How did you determine that?" Pym instinctively questioned.

But by this time, Stark had guessed Shiller's intention. AI research, hypnosis, amnesia - these keywords linked together reminded one of Certain AI crisis plot lines. As a master of AI just like Dr.Pym, Stark understood more than anyone the potential danger of an AI that breaks free from its creator's control.

Shiller was the owner of the mind-reading technique. He wouldn't beat around the bush when it came to his own professional matters. It was highly likely that Shiller had detected unusual signs from reading Pym's mind. This would explain why he felt there was something wrong with Dr. Pym as soon as he met him.

Nick also persuaded: "Dr. Pym, I think, I should have told you the purpose of coming here before. Before undertaking work in the cosmos, you must also pass the test of a psychiatrist. You should know this, right?"

"I did know that. Is this the psychiatrist?" With that, Pym glanced at Shiller's lab coat and the medical record in his hand, and then slapped his own head, saying: "Oh, all right, let me return to my original size first."

Pym pressed on his wrist and with a "pop", a normal-sized Pym landed on the ground. Being a smart man, he quickly guessed what Shiller might be worried about. He asked, "Are you worried that my research hypnotized me?"

As they moved towards the experimental table of Stark Laboratory, Pym said while walking: "But I just started researching. The method I talked about is still at the theoretical stage and I haven't put it into practice yet."

Shiller shook his head: "What if it was your research that hypnotized you, making you believe all this?"

The colour of Pym's face changed suddenly. He stammered: "Should not … I have never heard of AI being able to hypnotize. Even I can't do that …"

"Don't make me doubt your professional capabilities," Stark stood next to the chair, with his arms folded, he asked Pym, "What is the most powerful ability of AI?"

"Learning," Dr. Pym responded immediately. He opened his hand and said: "But that's too absurd. Are you saying that I have created a powerful AI and was then hypnotized by it?"

Dr. Pym shook his head, clearly not believing this was possible. Shiller patted the back of the chair and said, "In this special case, I won't charge you for consultation. Sit here, let's run a test"

"Okay, what should I do?" Pym sat down.

He was very cooperative, so Shiller's attitude was also good. Shiller moved a chair and sat opposite him, with Stark and Nick standing nearby, watching their conversation.

Just then, Shiller pulled out a bottle of wine from somewhere. He winked at Stark. Stark winked at JARVIS. JARVIS used a robot to bring over two wine glasses.

When the golden liquor fell into the cup, fine bubbles emerged from the bottom, and a rich wine fragrance emanated. Alcoholic Stark sniffed hard, seemingly intoxicated by the scent.

"Hey, where did you get this fragrant wine?" snorted Stark, somewhat discontented, "You have such a good thing and you don't share?! Shiller, it turns out I was wrong about you. Pour me a drink!"
