Chapter 799 - Chapter 547: Not Fond of Gemstones and Purple Sweet Potato Spirit (Part 1)_1

Thanos, a infamous villain known to all in the Marvel Universe, does not need much introduction here, only his current state will be discussed.

Now, he resides within his domain, the Dark Quadrant, having left the Titan Planet and ventured into the cosmos, defeating a band of Space Pirates, and replacing their leader. These individuals were the first citizens of the Thanos Empire.

At this time, the development in the Dark Quadrant is going smoothly, with the Black Order, who serve Thanos, waging wars throughout the cosmos, plundering resources to establish a strategic base for Thanos.

Previously, the Dark Quadrant was at the peak of its development, and even though destruction is in Thanos's nature, he had been farming in his homeland for quite a while.

In some sense, Thanos's situation is vaguely similar to Stark's at the moment, with countless matters to attend to in territorial development, and results are not to be expected overnight. Thanos himself is incredibly powerful, but sometimes, in the interstellar wars, the overall strength of a civilization is what matters.

Thanos wishes to expedite the overall military strength of the Dark Quadrant, yet he does not know where to start, often pondering this issue while seated on his throne.

Currently, he can choose between two paths. The first is to make himself even more powerful, enough to confront thousands, to become an army of one, possessing the power of a one-man cosmic invader, much like the Cosmic Sorcerer. The other path is to build a military empire, like Asgard.

For Thanos, the first path is simpler. He is a member of the Titan Clan, with inherent advantages. His starting point is already way higher than most individuals in other civilizations, and even higher than many Cosmic Sorcerers. However, the prospect of developing an Asgard-like empire also appeals greatly to Thanos.

He has imagined how deeply satisfying it would be if the few major empires in the cosmos became his sharp blade, making his endless destructive ambitions more tangible.

However, the reality is that the Dark Quadrant is nowhere near as powerful as these major empires, and at this time, the rapidly developing Thanos Empire has run into a bottleneck, an issue encountered by all civilizations.

Thanos cannot settle on whether he should entirely abandon this path and concentrate solely on his personal improvement.

As he sat on his throne, eyes half-closed in contemplation, a timid waiter walked in holding a large communication device that was emitting a constant "beep-beep" sound.

Thanos turned his head with a frown, casting an impatient gaze upon the communication device, quite displeased that it had interrupted his train of thought.

Still, he extended his large hand and took the device. What to the waiter was an enormous communication device, was to him a telephone of normal size.

Thanos accepted the call, and a pleasing female voice came through: "Greetings, His Majesty Thanos. I am the Crown Princess of Asgard, Loki. We just met..."

"I didn't know that you are a rather shy individual. Our meeting was brief, offering no chance for in-depth conversation. So I decided to call you. Feel free to note down my phone number and call me whenever you wish..."

Loki's words were teasing and ambiguous. Even though her map was short, it didn't take long for her to show the dagger."

"I think we can have a discussion about the issue of the Infinity Gem. I believe you understand its incredible power. At this moment, the Infinity Gem is located within the Nine Major Kingdoms. As long as Odin and Thor are killed, and Asgard's defense is broken, it will be possible to... Hello? Hello!!!"

In a guest room at the Star Port transfer station closest to the Dark Quadrant, Loki banged the communicator on the table, gritting her teeth and cursing, "How dare he hang up on me? What a boorish yokel!"

But quickly, she reined in her anger, reaching for the phone again to dial, only to find out that her calls to Thanos could no longer get through.

Loki snorted coldly, revealing a mocking smile. Following a flash of light from her hand, she dialed Thanos's number again after changing the frequency. Yet her elevator speech was cut off midway through when the call was abruptly ended once more.

Loki took a deep breath and, undeterred, used her magic to change her communication channel again, then called Thanos again, and as expected, was hung up on yet again.

Evidently, by this point, the outcome was less important than winning.

Communication in the cosmos is similar to human phone call communication, though they utilize a different sort of signal. Loki's call to Thanos is no different than a Cosmic Sorcerer's call to the Holy Sanctuary, both established through the Origin Energy of the cosmos.

Within this method also lies an equivalent to phone numbers, that being the uniqueness of souls. Whether it's a Cosmic Sorcerer or a typical human, their souls within the cosmos are one-of-a-kind. To those beings capable of utilizing Origin Energy of the cosmos, the aura of their souls are akin to unique phone numbers.

Some beings can alter their outward appearance, and some can modify their physique, but the vast majority of beings are unable to change their own souls.

This vast majority does not include Loki.

All divine beings in Asgard possess unique abilities, and the ability of the God of Mischief lies in the concealment of her soul's aura.

This is why, despite being ostracized by a majority of mid-level civilizations, Loki can still stroll into the Dark Quadrant unimpeded – because she can alter not only her appearance and voice, but even her soul. If one IP address is blacklisted, why not just switch to another?
