Chapter 730 - Chapter 498: Tonight, the Moon is as Red as Blood (Part 2)_2

Shiller felt as though he heard a sigh from Khonsu, followed by hearing him say:

"The Egyptian Gods who were involved in the Holy Sanctuary shattered the tranquility of the Celestial Realm, obtaining greater power, and thus sought higher status."

"Even though, a long time ago, I was banished from the Celestial Realm, others were banished as well, including one who shared my responsibility of punishing sinners, Amit."

"He made a deal with the gods of the Celestial Realm, gaining even more powerful strength, and allowing his followers to walk the earth, establish sects, acquire faith; but I could not stand by and let this happen..."

"Why? Because his authority overlaps with yours?"

Khonsu shook his head, and said: "We did have some old grudges, but more importantly, our philosophies conflicted. Moonlight is a supplement to sunlight. Darkness and light are inseparable, and I just punish sinners who walk in the darkness, unseen by the light..."

"And Amit?"

"He wants to destroy all sinners in this world."

"How does he define a sinner?"

"That's the problem. In Amit's view, as long as you have the potential to commit a crime, or even if you've ever had the slightest criminal thought, then you deserve to die."

"He must be one belonging to the God of Death, right? Trying to help his boss achieve more?"

After Shiller said this, he could clearly see that Khonsu was taken aback for a moment before responding, "I don't understand what you mean by 'achievements,' but he does indeed have a connection with the Underworld God."

"The relationships among the gods in the Celestial Realm are complex, and the power the Holy Sanctuary provides to some is disrupting the original balance. If Amit truly manages to fully liberate himself, it will be a disaster for the human race."

"You want me to eliminate Amit?"

Khonsu nodded, but then shook his head, saying, "I will give you the power of the Moon Knight, and you only need to ensure that Amit can't fully free himself."

"Deal." Shiller agreed without any hesitation.

As they kept moving forward, from the window Shiller's silhouette appeared tiny compared to the towering Khonsu.

The odd coupling of the tall and short figures progressed slowly down the corridor, the terrifying Skull Falcon's head floated slightly in mid-air, but the human in front seemed completely oblivious, simply continuing to walk forward without looking back.

The scene looked eerie and mysterious. As they moved from one end of the window to the other, Shiller finally stopped before a door labeled "1003".

Khonsu stood behind Shiller. Through the view window on the door, he could see the room was pitch-black except for the faint glow of a small bulb. In the hazy light, the silhouette of a person could be seen standing in the middle of the room.

However, Shiller did not open the door, but stood in silence for a moment before murmuring to himself:

"A person's development and experiences determine their personality, and a distinct experience might add certain traits to their personality."

"And it's those traits that make up a complete personality–honest, shy, passionate, indifferent, gentle, violent…"

"He and I…" Shiller stretched out his hand, pointing at the figure in the room, and continued, "along with every Shiller you see here, represent different traits of one personality."

"There's actually only one personality here, and that's same as the High Tower you've seen before."

"I've never seen a person like this before." Khonsu's words were always straightforward, and they sounded strangely naïve.

Shiller reached out and put his finger on the view window of the door, and said, "Any personality characteristic that appears here is not unfounded. They were born from a specific period in my life…"

"What do you represent?" Khonsu asked.

"Greed," answered Shiller, dressed in a white lab coat.

Seemingly having not engaged in such a discussion in a long time, Shiller seemed quite chatty. He said, "When I first came to this world, the first emotion I felt was not fear, nor confusion, but greed…"

"What do you desire?"

"Power," Shiller answered without hesitation, adding, "But not the kind used for fighting."

"A long time ago, I found that I could gain a satisfying and motivating internal force from interacting with others, and from speculating about their mental state and analyzing their personalities."

"After arriving in such a new world, I knew that there are so many people and things here that interest me, like how they've grown to become who they are today, and what mindset they hold as they pursue their careers. All these questions piqued my curiosity."

"Therefore, when I first interacted with someone I found very interesting, the trait of greed surfaced and became me."

"That's an interesting state," Khonsu commented.

"What form a certain aspect of the personality takes is dependent on when this trait primarily surfaces."

"Once, this trait often appeared when I acted as a psychologist, because during the process, I was fascinated by the mental state and journey my patients would share, and I derived satisfaction from scrutinizing the hearts of others, depicting their personalities, and dissecting their psychic worlds, which brought out my greed."
