Chapter 67 - Chapter 51: Heart of Iron Armor (Part 2)_2

Right after he finished speaking, one of the large robots hit by his palm cannon charged at him. Spider Man shouted from the other side, "Get out of the way!!! It's dangerous!!!"

The Iron Man suit was running at peak power, and he quickly ascended, "BOOM!!" With a loud boom, another burnt pit was blasted out.

"Thank goodness I've upgraded jet power; otherwise, I couldn't withstand such a big hit."

As he spoke, he dove down, quickly grabbed a robot, and threw it away. This time, Iron Man had grown shrewd. He immediately flew back after chucking it out, and unsurprisingly, another severe explosion followed soon after.

Stark reacted quickly, but Steve behind him wasn't so lucky. He used his shield to resist the aftershock but still got knocked over by the blast.

"Damn it! What are these things!"

Iron Man hovered in mid-air, looking at the charred wreckage on the ground, he said, "I recognise them. That's part number 7 from before the modification. It's from the model I gave to the military..."

He looked back at Rhodes, who was still fighting the robots, silently raised the altitude of his suit, and then dealt with the next enemy.

Explosions were unceasing. Even more robots joined the battle. The area had practically turned into ruins.

There was no denying that this tactic was extremely effective. Frequent explosions correlating with intense impacts kept the heroes on the defensive. Even more cunningly, whenever a robot tried to escape the battlefield, the superheroes would have to actively chase them. Otherwise, if they exploded in a residential area, it would spell disaster.

Iron Man gradually figured out the pattern, but the intervals between the attacks were too short. He didn't have time to modify his suit to deal with the kamikaze troops. Two consecutive explosions rang out, and Iron Man was blasted away. His suit emitted a series of sparks.

Seeing him losing balance, four or five robots immediately swarmed him. They didn't plan to fight Iron Man hand-to-hand. There was but one goal, and that was to kill him with an explosion.

Just as the red light on the first robot's chest lit up, the ground trembled again. A thunderous roar sounded as a huge arm grabbed the robot and threw it against a wall, resulting in another explosion.

A Steel Monster, two times larger than these kamikaze robots, appeared. Iron Man stood up and flew into mid-air, saying, "What the hell is this? Where are they getting all these robots?!!"

The Steel Monster tore a kamikaze robot in half and dug out the bomb in its chest. Rhodes was flabbergasted, he asked, "What's going on? Why did they start fighting each other?!"

"Can't you guys see it?! They're not on the same side!" Captain America exclaimed.

The situation on the battlefield was extremely complex. The superheroes had to deal with the kamikaze robots, preventing them from breaking out and exploding. The Steel Monster seemed to be interested in nothing but ripping those robots apart.

Iron Man was momentarily unsure who to attack, while Spider Man, reckless and resistant, took on all comers. He used his web to topple kamikaze robots and even punched the Steel Monster.

In a short time, most of the kamikaze robots were handled. Some were thrown to explode, and others had their bombs dug out.

The moment they took a breather, another colossal figure appeared on top of the building opposite them. An enlarged version of a kamikaze robot jumped down. It was painted in black and gold, and was at least three times as large as Iron Man's suit. When it landed, it emitted a shocking thunderous roar.

"My God, what is this now? I've never seen so many robots in my life!" Peter exclaimed, "Could they possibly be some sort of robot family?"

Walking over with his shield, Captain America said, "If that's the case, judging by their sizes, you'd know who the son is."

"You've violated our agreement!" The robot who had just jumped down spoke.

"You tricked me…" Said the Steel Monster. Evidently, both robots were being piloted by humans.

Stark had a shocked look on his face. Almost in unison, he and Rhodes exclaimed, "Uncle Obadiah!" "General Johnson!"

However, before they could clarify the situation, the two gigantic robots were already going at it.

While it was evident that both robots were powerful, the two pilots were evidently rusty. Their fighting style resembled that of street thugs, matching punch for punch.

Iron Man stood dumbfounded in mid-air. He didn't know who to assist. Jarvis had just conducted a voice analysis for him, and indeed, the speaker was Obadiah. But what was going on? Could it be that these suicide robots weren't created by Obadiah? What was up with General Johnson? Were their original intentions to gang up against Iron Man, but they turned on each other???

Iron Man thought that no matter whom he helped, it seemed wrong so he decided to just float in mid-air and watch the drama unfold.

The Steel Monster punched General Johnson's suit, there was a bang, and the control panel in the cockpit shattered. Retreating a step, General Johnson swung his arm, claiming, ""Howard's little errand boy! Still stepping forth to protect his son! It's laughable! When he wanted to shut down Stark's arms division, he never did ask for his good uncle's opinion!""
