Chapter 488 - Chapter 334 S: Splendid Event (14) _1

"What? Kamar-Taj has created a large-scale teleportation portal?...How big is it? Enough to reach the moon?...Alright, got it. Hang in there."

Stark ended the call, a bit peeved. "These magicians have certainly jumped the gun. They've solved the problem of material transportation before us making our research speed seem so slow, no?"

Banner kept writing methodically. Stark glared at him and said, "This is a race, get it? We can't lose to those magic-freaks! I must prove to them that mechanical technology is the human race's best hope!"

Banner stifled a yawn, "The sections on the universality and utilization of Vibranium material are done. The procurement report with data analysis for 69 usable alloys has been uploaded. The issue of Mercury's global magnetic field utilisation rate has transferred. The geological investigation report and the structural reform initiatives of Ring Mountain are in its final stages…"

"Stark, instead of grumbling, could you hurry up with the research on the exploration robots on your end? We are waiting for you…"

From the side, someone nudged Banner's arm with his elbow and whispered to him, "Don't stress him too much. There are limits to what a person can handle…"

With a "whoosh", the mecha flew in through the window, shattering the glass with a "thud" and promptly armed itself onto Stark's body.

Stark pulled down his face guard and ordered JARVIS: "Maximize life support device power! I don't want to waste one bit of time on physiological needs!"

"Limits? Stark was born to redefine limits!"

As he turned, he made a vulgar gesture to the two sitting at the research desk.

Watching him leave, Banner hesitated a little, "By goading him like this, are we being a bit too harsh? He won't drop dead from exhaustion, will he?"

"Forget about him for now. How are you feeling? Any improvements with the medication?"

Banner sighed and replied, "I've taken the prescribed doses up till my stay here but it hasn't been very effective."

"The Hulk is immune to all tranquilizing drugs. He can come out a second after I take my medication, without any delay."

Shiller shook his head, saying, "Your case is exceptionally complicated. Gamma rays have enhanced your body, but the one who can control this power, unfortunately, is your alter ego."

Banner sighed, clearly troubled by this for a long time. Shiller continued, "I went through your entire medical history and psychological counselling reports last night, and I have a bit of an inspiration."

"The new therapy you mentioned before?"

"Yes, I've even brought in an expert in the field. If you're willing, we can have a consultation tonight. Even if we can't solve the problem fundamentally, perhaps we can alleviate some of your stress."

"That would be a blessing." Banner took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes, "I just wish to get it over with this terrible life. He's like a lingering devil. No matter where I go, I live in constant fear of the destruction he might cause..."

"Since you are a good person, it's natural to bear this psychological burden. Don't worry, if we can't solve the problem mentally, we'll solve it physically."

"Physically? What do you mean?"

"What troubles you is not The Hulk, but rather the destruction he causes, right?"

"Yes, I'm aware that The Hulk is a part of me. I've mentioned it in our sessions…"

"Alright, I get it. You don't need to repeat. The Hulk is, in essence, a product of your childhood trauma. You've moved on, but he hasn't, so it's only natural that you sympathize with him."

"I know it's a bit irresponsible, as he is so good at causing destruction, but I don't want to destroy him, as he's borne all the shadows of my childhood for me."

"But I spend my life fearing that he will harm others. Like you said, I don't despise him, but the destruction he brings."

"Previously, I demonstrated to you about the existence of magic in this world, didn't I?"

Banner looked at Shiller and said, "I was surprised to learn that you're a magician. However, that does make sense. No normal psychologist would continue to provide therapy for me after knowing about the beast inside me."

"You take a few seconds to transform into The Hulk, right? As long as you have a mage with you, they can teleport you to some desolate corner of the Milky Way in the process of your transformation. Once The Hulk cools down, they can teleport you back."

Banner raised an eyebrow, "That actually seems feasible. While The Hulk in a fit of rage is prone to causing significant damage, it doesn't usually last very long."

"You're more aware of the vastness of the cosmos and the numerous uninhabited areas than anyone else. If we can evade The Hulk's destruction through this method, alleviate your guilt, stabilize your mental state, and then complement it with long-term treatment, there might be a possibility for a complete solution."

Banner nodded, "So, does the therapy start tonight?"

He seemed more lively than before, but was taken aback, "Why tonight? I've pretty much completed my work. Can't we start now?"
