Chapter 445 - Chapter 297: Three Detectives (Part One)_2

"Indeed, but not entirely."

Shiller stood up and looked at the ceiling, saying, "The quality of the body here is not enough."

"What do you mean?"

"What you see now, the red parts in the room, that is, the pieces containing blood, internal organs, skin, and bone tissues, all collected and pieced together, only account for about two-thirds of a person's mass."

"One-third of the body mass has disappeared."

Gordon opened his mouth as if to ask how Shiller knew, but the question circled in his mouth and did not come out in the end, after all, the reality of the scene was horrifying enough and did not need any further horror stories to set the mood.

Batman came up and stood next to the magic array, saying, "This pattern is not any of the recorded magic array, but I can confirm that the hexagram in the center of the pattern should be associated with demons."

"Things are getting more and more mysterious, aren't they?" Resisting the nausea, Gordon came over and said: "It started with the serial killings of the twelve disciples, then there was a man sawed in half, and today, they have started to grind bodies into mincemeat and smear them on the walls, what are they going to do next? Evaporate people?"

"Clearly, this is not something an ordinary person can do." Shiller spoke slowly and evenly, but always gave people a creepy feeling, he said, "In this case, the murderer's strength has risen to another level."

"Aren't you the one who's been patrolling around here lately? Any findings?" Shiller looked at Batman and asked.

"I was the first one to find out that Cooper was dead, and the reason I came here was that I heard an explosion, but when I arrived, I didn't find any suspicious figures."

Shiller walked over to the sofa, scraping the tip of his umbrella against the unsoiled sofa, he said, "Although my next words might make you question my professionalism, I still have to say...this case might be related to supernatural forces."

"Supernatural forces? ... What do you mean?"

"Isn't this magic array already clear? Someone here has summoned a demon, and the demon killed Cooper."

Gordon took a sip and tilted his head, saying, "I imagined you might come up with an intricate line of reasoning and then tell us a surprising result, I also imagined that you might present various evidences to prove your reasoning is correct, but I never thought…"

"Detective Gordon, do not judge the events in this city by the view of ordinary people."

But Batman asked, "Why did you make that judgment?"

Shiller walked over again, looked down at the ground and said, "Notice the direction where the blood and muscle tissues are spraying, they spread outwards from the center, indicating that Cooper was not killed by an external bomb, he exploded from the inside out."

"Could it be that a madman forced him to swallow a bomb?"

"Good reasoning, Detective Gordon, that indeed sounds like something the criminals in Gotham would do, but that's a question for our weapons expert Batman..."

"Is there a kind of bomb in the world that can grind a person from skin to muscle and then to organs evenly and spread them out in the room when it explodes?"

"If you're talking about blasting, it's possible, but it's hard to spread the blasted tissues so evenly on the floor and walls of the room."

"What if someone smeared these things evenly after blowing Cooper up?" Gordon raised another question.

Shiller made a gesture of agreement, he said, "Detective Gordon, your thinking is very suitable for being a detective, really, you are very talented."

"If the person doing it is really a psychopathic killer, then he coulds possibly do it, they have even done worse, but based on the details, it's unlikely that they were smeared evenly."

"Look here..." Shiller walked over, stepping on the floor with a sticky dull sound that nonetheless attracted both men's attention.

Shiller pointed to a leg of the sofa, where some tissue had accumulated, he said, "This is where the human tissue squirted out during the explosion and was stopped when it hit the floor."

"As you can see, the part closest to the leg of this sofa is skin tissue, you can even see the epidermis and dermis, on top of them is some fat, and above that are pieces of organs."

"This means it's unlikely that the murderer blew the man up and chopped him up intentionally to smear evenly because that way, the order of the tissues accumulated here wouldn't be so regular and would be a mess."

"You can imagine that when Cooper exploded by some unknown force, he was completely melted, then turned into a pancake spread out on the ground, then crushed even more, and began to flow around the floor like a wave."

"The leg of the sofa is just like a bridge pier standing on the sea surface, it's just that the crushed human tissues are denser, so this pier stopped a part and preserved its original state."

"I also don't think this is something an ordinary person could do, it's hard for a bomb to achieve this effect, and to grind a human body so finely, some mechanical tools must be used."

"From the time I heard the explosion until I came into this room, it wasn't enough time for someone to move large machinery."

Gordon also looked at the room up and down, saying, "Could there be traps or something?"

"I've checked every corner of this room before I called you, there are no traps, no secret doors, no secret compartments, no secret passages, this is just a very ordinary manor reception room."

"So both of you think this might have been done by some kind of supernatural force?"

"Yes, and it probably doesn't have anything to do with the Twelve Disciples murder case, at least I've never heard of anyone in the Bible being exploded and then crushed."

"Pardon my frankness..." Gordon said somewhat hesitantly, "If it involves this, the Gotham Police Department probably can't help, no one here is proficient in this area."

"Even if I go outside now and announce the results of your two investigations, they will certainly think of us as crazy and drive us away."

Shiller shook his head, "Not necessarily, maybe they are more superstitious than you …"

Just then, the door was knocked, a police officer rushed in and opened the door, and then said to Gordon: "Boss! Something's wrong, Mrs. Sanchez, the principal of the boarding school near the Gotham River, is dead!"
