Chapter 419 - Chapter 278: Sudden Turn of Events (Part 2)_1

"You can't expect a chaotic creature, with a brain packed full with gibberish, to have accurate awareness of the human body while transforming. If it were not for utilizing the embryo of that monster's birth, she might have manifested herself with six legs..."

Bruce examined the little girl's face closely and found that not only her teeth, but her eyes, although blue like his, had vertical pupils just like the original Parallax.

Bruce drew in a deep breath; his worldview was being challenged.

But like Schiller said, they had reached this point, they had to think of a solution. He asked, "If she is to live in human society, what can be done about these fangs?"

"It's natural, she is too young for correction. Can't we find a morally tested dentist to write her a diagnosis for dental deformity?"

"Alright, but what about her eyes?"

"Iris heterochromia, find a morally tested ophthalmologist..."

"Alright, I got it." Bruce cut off Schiller's following words, looking at this little girl, aside from the shock of his worldview being disrupted, he also felt a somewhat odd sense of thrill.

When people see a child who looks almost identical to themselves, an intrinsic, genetically ingrained protection instinct towards offspring arises, and Bruce was no exception.

"Cheer up. Even if she may give you a heap of new problems in the future, at least for now she can solve a pressing issue for you, which is the mental state of your butler, Alfred."

"You have mentioned more than once that Alfred has been depressed due to overly concern for your situation. We have previously discussed how to transfer his emotions. Clearly, an illegitimate daughter without a mother would be a good choice..."

"If I do raise her, she will be my adopted daughter."

"Alright, no problem. An adopted daughter who looks 80% like you."

Bruce pursed his lips, at least on the issue of appearance, he couldn't wash his hands of it even by jumping into the Yellow River.

Bruce remembered this morning's overly excited state of Alfred; he felt that it was not a good thing.

With the mindset of taking a leap in the dark, Bruce, in the end, took the little girl home.

When Alfred saw the little girl who looked strikingly similar to Bruce, he instantly dropped the plate from his hands.

When Bruce prepared for a long persuasion to convince Alfred, Alfred retrieved the little girl from Bruce's hands, and asked, "Have you sorted out the legal issues? Sir, if there is difficulty in the custody dispute, I think we possibly could..."

"Wait, Alfred, this isn't..."

"I understood already. I understood, sir. A passionate fling, an accidental pregnancy, a broken-hearted mother, an innocent illegitimate daughter..."

"It's fine. We can completely give the great mother a sum of money, claiming that she is your deceased ex-wife, so that the child won't have any damage to her reputation..."

"I..." Bruce was choked up. In just a few short seconds, Alfred had completed the full story, and even prepared to deal with the aftermath.

"What is her name?" Alfred looked into Bruce's eyes.

Bruce saw the long-lost hope and expectation in his eyes. He was silent for a while, and eventually did not tell the truth. Instead, he said in a low voice, "Aisha...her name is Aisha."

"Aisha, that's a good name..." Alfred's throat moved, Bruce saw his eyes turning red. However, Alfred lowered his head and uttered in a somewhat hoarse voice, "Sir... ah, no... master, I really didn't expect that you would be willing to bring Miss Aisha back home, I thought you..."

Bruce took a deep breath. In that moment, Alfred seemed to have aged significantly, his usually upright back began to stoop, and Bruce lowered his head as well.

"Ahhhh!!"

Aisha, in Alfred's arms, suddenly screamed. The old Butler lowered his gaze towards Aisha's teeth and exclaimed, "My goodness! What's wrong with the little girl's teeth? Oh right, she's too young and cannot correct her dental deformities yet. No worries, in a couple of years, we can see a dentist..."

Similarly, Alfred also noticed Aisha's unusual eyes. He said, "Is this iris heterochromia? Did she inherit it from her mother? Poor little girl..."

Bruce's explanation was cutoff, as Alfred, playing with Aisha, said which some confusion, "She should be almost four years old, shouldn't she? Why doesn't she speak? And her expression seems a bit…"

"Could she possibly have autism? We need to control that as soon as possible. I'll look for a reliable psychiatrist in the phone book..."

"I know a good doctor..." Bruce told Alfred in a somewhat stiff tone, "my college Psychology professor, Schiller Rodriguez..."

"Really? That's wonderful! We should invite the professor over one day, oh! I suppose, tomorrow then. I'll call to book an appointment now; it shouldn't disturb the professor, don't you think?"

Bruce shook his head mechanically and said, "No, it won't."

Alfred handed Aisha back to Bruce and said, "Master, in a parent-child relationship, company is very important, especially when the young lady may have autism now. Parents need to guide her more patiently. I think you'll do it very well"

Bruce lowers his head to look at Aisha. Aisha shows him another terrifying grin filled with sharp fangs. Bruce sighs, closes his eyes and says, "...I will try my best."

An hour later, Bruce's on the phone, saying to the person on the other end, "Selina! Come quick! I need your help. Get here fast..."

Half an hour later, Selina looks at the little girl who looks 80% like Bruce. She widens her eyes, then walks in front of Bruce, slaps him, and angrily turns to leave.

Bruce grabs her arm and says, "Selina, it's not what you think. Let me explain"

Half an hour later, Selina is folding her arms, looking doubtful at Bruce, and says, "Bruce, if I don't know you better, knowing you couldn't make up such a fanciful story about an illegitimate daughter, I would've slapped you again and said you could go write some fantasy fiction..."

Suddenly, Selina has a strange expression on her face and says, "So, if it's like that, she isn't a child you had?"

After saying that, her beautiful eyes drop down and rest on Bruce's lower abdomen. Selina shows a teasing smile.

Bruce turns to look at Aisha helplessly and says, "This isn't the time to be discussing her origin. I never imagined that dealing with a child would be so..."

From his tone, Selina could sense a deep helplessness, but she spoke lightly, "I've heard from Maggie that children are the cutest things in the world. Having children with the person you love is Maggie's lifelong goal; shouldn't be that hard, should it?"

Half an hour later, Selina and Bruce are sitting at the bedside, sighing. Selina's originally smooth hair has become a bird's nest, and Bruce's hair has stood up on his forehead.

At this point, Aisha is biting the bedpost with her sharp teeth, refusing to let go. Bruce is pulling her arm and saying, "Quick, come down. Let go of your mouth, ok? Why do you want to bite it?"

Selina brushes her hair back with her hand, then looks at the row of bite marks on her arm and says, "You may as well have told me she's your pet dog's reincarnation…"

Her hair falls over her eyes, making her look like a crazed woman who didn't even bother to comb her hair before leaving the house.

Over the last half hour, this young couple, who are still children themselves, have fully recognized why human cubs are classified as the most dreadful creatures.

First of all, Aisha doesn't speak; she expresses all of her emotions by yelling.

You can't even say she's crying because she doesn't shed any tears, she just makes different frequency screams. It's probably because she isn't purely human, the penetration of these screams is simply terrifying. Even when Bruce carries her into a separate room, Selina can still hear her screams several rooms away.

Secondly, Aisha stuffs everything she sees into her mouth; it seems the way she identifies objects in the world is to taste them.

And because she isn't purely human, her biting strength is simply astonishing. In short, she bites anyone within reach and refuses to let go.

Her sharp teeth have strengthens her combat ability. With a "snap", a big chunk of solid wood bed post is gone. If she had not restrained herself from biting humans, Bruce and Selina would probably be in the hospital now.

The most troublesome issue is that this little girl, who was spawned from a chaotic creature, seems to completely not understand human speech. Bruce even wonders if she knows English. All of Bruce's instructions are completely ignored by Aisha. She is willful and goes wherever she wishes.

Whenever Bruce tries to stop her, she starts yelling nonstop. But once he lets her go, she finds nearest object, takes a "snap" bite, and then Bruce and Selina have to smack her back to spit out the mouthful of crumbs.

Bruce is not yet twenty, and neither is Selina. They are both children themselves, so you can imagine how frantic it would be for them to take care of another child.

And apparently, this chaotic life has just begun.
