Chapter 382 - 250

Shiller, who was napping in the lounge, was woken by the sound of the doorbell. He groggily lifted his arm, looked at his watch, then sat up and cried out to the door, "Wait a moment."

He tidied himself up in front of the mirror, then opened the door and stepped out.

Evans was standing in the living room. Seeing Shiller emerge, he said, "I'm sorry, Professor, did I come a bit too early?"

"Not at all, what made you decide to make an appointment here?" Shiller turned to look out the window, not seeing the vehicle that usually transported Evans. Evans, noticing his gaze, awkwardly said, "I did not come from Falcone Manor."

"Sit."

Shiller and Evans sat down by the table. Shiller studied Evans, noticing that he looked somewhat wilted. He asked, "What's up with you? I was rather surprised when Mrs. Miller told me that young Falcone called to book a therapy session. Why didn't you just invite me to Falcone Manor?"

"I am… no longer living at Falcone Manor." Evans put his hand on the table, lowered his gaze and continued, "I moved out."

"Oh?" Shiller took a sip of water. The fire in the fireplace was burning strong, making him feel hot. He said, "That's interesting. You moved out?"

"I know it sounds absurd, but… in short, I'm not living with the Godfather anymore."

"Why?"

Evans pursed his lips tightly, his expression unusually serious. He said, "Alberto told me everything. I never imagined..."

His face reflected a kind of sad confusion; he seemed to have many things to say and was eager to pour them out.

"I never thought things were like this. I really didn't think... It's absurd, how could my brother..."

Evans covered his eyes with his hand, then, before Shiller could speak, waved his hand, "Alright, actually, I've accepted this fact, but... the relationship between Alberto and the Godfather is a bit complex, isn't it?"

"Just like before, I live in Falcone Manor, but I always feel a sudden palpitation, and sometimes even fear. More importantly, when I face the Godfather, I feel like I can't breathe."

"I know it's not my feeling, it's Alberto's influence."

Evans furrowed his eyebrows, seeming a little pained as he continued, "Before, when Alberto took over my body, I felt nothing, as if I was sleeping. But if his emotions get too intense, I would also be awakened. There was this night when it was raining heavily and there was thunder…"

Evans's gaze shifted towards the window, as if he were seeing that rainy night. Rain dripped down the glass; when a flash of lightning passed, the small raindrops emitted a dazzling sheen.

Alberto was kneeling on the ground with a look of terror on his face, and opposite him stood the Godfather by the window.

"That emotion was too intense. I didn't know what he was afraid of, but it woke me up and made me feel his pain."

"So what did you do?"

"I didn't know what I should do, but I could at least do one thing, which was to separate them."

"So you moved out?"

Evans nodded and said, "The Godfather was very unhappy about it. But since I insisted on not going home, he was helpless. Recently, I've been living in the school dormitory and sometimes staying over at a friend's place."

"But since then, my brother hasn't appeared. I'm worried there might be a problem with him. Professor, could you…"

"Alright, I know it sounds a bit absurd." Evans pressed his forehead and said, "But the one who needs therapy today is not me, it's Alberto."

"Of course, after all, both your bills are sent to the same address. Close your eyes and do as I say…"

Two minutes later, Alberto opened his eyes. He stared coldly at Shiller and said, "Why did you call me out?"

"Your brother was worried about your condition, so he asked me to give you therapy."

Alberto muttered a curse under his breath. Shiller propped his elbow on the table, resting his chin on his hand, and studied Alberto with interest. It was fascinating how Alberto and Evans, while sharing the same face, seemed like completely different people.

Their different temperament led to different expressions; the lines formed by the facial expression made them look different from each other.

This was a very good case to study, as it was a genuine case of split personality, not induced by hypnosis or imagination.

"It seems like you don't want to owe your brother, huh?"

"Owe him? Do you know what that idiot has done?!"

Alberto turned his head and sighed deeply, "He ran to the Godfather and said, 'I want to move out, I don't want to live at home anymore.' When the Godfather asked why, he said, 'Because you're at Falcone Manor...'"

Alberto covered his eyes, "Can you imagine the look on the Godfather's face?"

Alberto's voice was filled with exhaustion. He said, "I could feel it, the Godfather has indeed aged. If this had happened in the past, if I had dared to say that, he would've shot me, making me reflect until I lost too much blood, then bandage me."
