Chapter 349 - Chapter 226 Loki (Part 2)_1

Loki admitted that he had always been resentful of Odin's favoritism, yet when he became the favored one, he felt a sense of guilt and fear, and these feelings of fear had now turned into deep confusion after hearing from an extraterrestrial medical device, that he wasn't even part of the Aesir God Clan.

The grandeur of Odin was not built on his throne. He conquered the cosmos, pacified the Nine Realms, stepped on every branch of the World Tree. All his enemies trembled under his thunder. From the perspective of the conquered tribes, Odin was undoubtedly a tyrant.

Odin could also be considered a racist, treating those outside of the Aesir God Clan ruthlessly, at least in Loki's perception.

So the question was, if he was not Odin's biological son, or even an Aesir, why had Odin suddenly favored him so much?

Leaning on the head of the bed, an arm on his forehead, Loki found even his own query absurd. He had never imagined he would one day question why Odin had been so good to him.

In the living room of the apartment, Thor finally figured out how to use the electric lift clothes rack and successfully hung up his work uniform. Upon hearing a sound from Loki's bedroom, he turned around to see Loki standing in the doorframe of his room.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Thor asked, sounding perplexed.

"I want to ask you a question." Loki looked at Thor and said, "I was bestowed with the divine role of true god before you, granted free access to Asgard, not stripped of divine power or weapon, even had the strength to laugh at you..."

"Haven't you ever felt Odin was biased when you found out all this?"

"Of course!" Thor retorted, glaring at Loki, "I really don't understand how you could receive the divine role of a true god before me. Have you earned it with your military merits?"

He fiercely shook the collar of the work uniform in his hand, as if venting his anger, then grumbled, "In terms of divine power or military merit, I am stronger than you. How could the Father of All Gods..."

He snorted harshly, paused for a moment, then suddenly deflated, "Fine, I get it now. I got myself in trouble, right? He was angry, that's why he banished me here, and then gave you the role of a true god, so you could come and laugh at me..."

Thor lifted his arm and said, "Great, he's won. Now all I think about day in and day out is whether my earning next week could afford me an extra box of beer. I'm no different from these ordinary mortals, even more down and out, I'm so poor I can only afford a small order of fried chicken..."

"You guys won, ok?"

Loki, standing by the door, didn't know what to say as he looked at Thor's facial expression.

"Why hasn't your supposedly wise mind, in all these years, convinced you that he's nothing more than a blockhead?" Venom asked him.

"Your check-up report showed there's something wrong with your brain." Venom suddenly sounded cheerful, "Fortunately, I know a very good psychologist. Maybe he can help with your head full of confusion and doubts, we don't have anything else to do anyway..."

"A psychologist?" Loki sounded doubtful, "Asgard doesn't have such a profession."

"Trust me, it'll be very effective."

Half an hour later, Shiller took a new medical record from the shelf and asked, "What's your first name?"

Loki seemed spaced out. After Shiller repeated the question, Loki answered, "Loki."

"Surname?"

Loki hesitated then said, "Odinson."

"Your pronunciation of that name seems peculiar. Considering your current level of English, it should not be due to mispronunciation. Do you have any problem with that surname?"

"So the so-called psychologist of you humans, just keeps asking questions for me to answer?"

"If you feel like you need therapy, try to cooperate with me instead of turning the tables." Doodling on the medical record, Shiller said without looking up, "This is not a business negotiation. You don't need to take the initiative here, and I am not your enemy, so there's no need for you to distract me with your words."

"How intriguing," leaning slightly forward with his hands resting on the desktop, Loki adopted a confident posture.

"It seems like you're used to speaking this way, trying to take control of the situation no matter who you're talking to. In most cases, this approach might be beneficial, but there could be exceptions."

Loki opened his mouth to speak, "No, not entirely, at least when facing..."

He shook his head, seemingly not wanting to mention that name.

"Why won't you say your father's name?"

Shiller noticed that Loki's fingertips twitched slightly at the mention of the word "father." Then he heard Loki say, "Because that might not be..."

"Not what?"

"He might not be my father." The tone of Loki's voice was relaxed, but the muscles in his neck twitched slightly, stiffening his shoulders. Shiller looked at him.

"How did it feel to say that?" Shiller looked at him, "Maybe the answer you're seeking is hidden there."

The trembling of Loki's fingertips began to spread to his backhand, then to his wrist and forearm, only to disappear in an instant.
