Chapter 3320 - Chapter 2462: The Bizarre Ancient Bat Family (Part Five)

The spot where the Bat Tyrant Dragon fell was the entrance from the manor to the garden, where some low bushes and built-up curbs were smashed, everything else was relatively unscathed, so lunch could proceed as normal.

However, Batman said, "I need to go check on the Bat Tyrant Dragon to make sure he's okay."

He knew the next part would be particularly dreadful. After Martha and Thomas had finished introducing themselves—which was actually unnecessary as everyone there knew who they were—it would be time for the other Batmen to introduce themselves.

Thomas and Martha were different from the Robins because they had also played the roles of Batman and Joker, so they knew that the bizarre figures sitting in front of them weren't oversized action figures; they were actual Batmen.

But anyone could tell that there was a long story behind how these Batmen came to be in their current states, and now with the warm sunshine and gentle breeze, they happened to have the time for it.

However, family knows their own affairs. These Batmen were mutated, not stupid. They were aware of how significant their stories were, so when the Batman of the Prime Universe stood up, the others echoed, "Uh, I'll take a look too, hope he's okay."

"I think I can perform a checkup on him. I believe he might have a concussion from the severe impact."

"No, I suspect he might've fainted due to nerve shock. It is indeed necessary to thoroughly check him out. I just happen to be able to operate those instruments, I'll go with you."

"He's a mechanical Tyrannosaurus Rex, we need to first check his motherboard, then see if there's any problem with the power supply. Obviously, only I am capable of this. I'd better…"

Accompanied by Martha and Thomas' Death Stare, the hands of the Batmen that were extended and the legs that were getting ready to rise slowly returned to their original positions as they sat without daring to move, their eyes darting around.

"Bryce, you go first," Martha said, holding her daughter's hand, firmly believing that her daughter would do nothing untoward.

Batwoman went through the events of her life over 600 times in her head and then realized that she hadn't really caused any major disasters. Most of it was just subjective thoughts that hadn't led to actions, especially compared to the heavyweights present, she was nothing but an innocent victim.

Batwoman heaved a deep sigh and began her account, "Silvius is dead. He was killed by a criminal, so I eradicated all the criminals in the city, and then…"

It wasn't a very thrilling tale. Batmen were never very good at regaling others with exciting stories, but their matter-of-fact tone prevented people from thinking they were deliberately hiding their personal thoughts and were instead seriously and meticulously stating the facts.

"Listen, Cici, I completely understand the grief and rage you felt losing your loved one because I felt the same. But you going after criminals, well, it doesn't matter whether they live or die, but it was very dangerous for you, you were not in your right mind…"

"THOMAS!!!!" Martha nearly screamed, hugging Batwoman and saying, "Our daughter's beloved was killed by a criminal, and you're criticizing her for seeking revenge?!"

"I'm not criticizing, I just wanted to say, it's too dangerous for her to be so impulsive. What if a criminal set a trap for her…"

Martha, holding Batwoman and caressing her hair, had adopted a stance of complete indifference to Thomas, kissed her daughter's forehead, and said, "There, there, Cici, don't listen to his nonsense. I simply can't imagine how you faced all this alone, how you even managed to survive amidst such despair and sorrow, God bless…"

In fact, the first thing Batwoman wanted to retort was that she didn't go by Cici, but dare she move? She dared not.

"What about you?" Thomas turned to Little Bruce, clearly noticing something off about him, for Little Bruce's skin was too pale, and he was the only Batman whose pupils were black.

Or rather, the blue of his eyes was now filled with strange and sinister patterns. From a distance, it appeared a mix of black and blue, mostly black.

"I have been contaminated by an Evil God," Little Bruce spoke up, causing all the Batmen to glare at him with anger. Were you contaminated by an Evil God? You gleefully embraced the arms of the Evil God, became part of it, and were nearly tracked all the way to your home by an insurance investigator.

Martha immediately widened her eyes. She let go of Batwoman and gestured to Little Bruce, who after a pause, walked over and sat beside her.

"I've done some research and it seems something happened to my mother while she was pregnant, and the contamination began then. But I haven't found out much yet because there is an insurance investigator constantly tracing my steps."

"What does he want with you?"

"He might want to eliminate me because I used the power of the Evil God to cleanse the contamination in Gotham, which led to some deaths, and the insurance company does not want to compensate for death caused by such reasons. Hence, the investigator hopes to find concrete evidence of my existence."

"Did he find anything?" Martha asked, somewhat anxiously.

"Some," Little Bruce shook his head, "He knows I exist, but he doesn't know how I exist, nor does he know that it's actually me who possesses this power."

Before Thomas could speak, Martha hugged Little Bruce again, "You mustn't tell him. Insurance investigators will do anything to keep their jobs, and the insurance companies would employ many dirty tricks to avoid paying out huge compensation. You need to protect yourself."

Thomas really wanted to say, look at those two tentacles behind him, who's protecting who?

"So what's your status now?" Thomas asked.

"I just cleared away some of the powers the Evil God had granted me, and now I plan to look at everything from a more objective perspective," Little Bruce perfectly skirted the subject of tentacles, before saying, "Most importantly, I need to investigate what exactly is going on."

"That's right," Martha said, stroking Little Bruce's head. "You really surprised me, Little Bruce, being able to stand up to the Evil God on your own and wake up clear-headed, and still have the energy to pursue the truth. But you have to promise Mom, you must protect yourself..."

Of course, Little Bruce wasn't going to say he presently wished he could fly back to his own cosmos and beat the damn insurance investigator to death and then scatter him and his damn company to the winds. He simply nodded obediently.

Next came God of War Batman, introduced by proximity since he was sitting closer to Martha, followed by the other Batmen with similar ages and unique attributes.

God of War Batman, considering himself a victim and knowing their universe had suffered enough, didn't bother hiding anything and went ahead to share their experiences.

But at this moment, Martha's eyes widened as she exclaimed, "You mean in that universe you and Diana are together? Where is she now? You didn't just leave her there, did you?!?"

"Well, at that time, I wanted to investigate the truth..."

"Oh my God!! Bruce!!! She fought by your side for so many years, sacrificed herself to save you at the last moment, using all her Divine Power to cleanse you from the helmet's corruption, and after all that, the only thing you do is leave her alone there??!!!"

Now everyone had no choice but to look at God of War Batman, whose gaze could also put pressure on a Batman, especially when he was completely in the wrong.

"You must bring her over immediately," Thomas said. "Your universe has been at war, and now she's lost her Divine Power and is already in great danger. Plus, she's just been through a major battle and definitely needs care. Most importantly, you two have been together for so many years and not married, which is completely irresponsible!"

"Well, actually it isn't that long for Diana..."

"Oh, that's right, Diana is an Immortal Species," Martha stood up, pressing the heel of her hand to her forehead, looking at Thomas and said, "For her, it's barely a brief romance."

"Hurry, hurry, arrange for someone to pick her up." Thomas, who couldn't sit still any longer, stood up and hoisted God of War Batman to his feet, saying, "If the only thing you can do when the other person is physically and mentally injured and it's all for you, is to tell them to drink more hot water rather than rushing to their place as fast as possible, you're going to stay single forever! Diana is a good girl, and you need to hold onto her. Where is she now?"

"Mount Olympus, at her brother's place."

"My goodness." Martha also stood up, "Do you not realize how many of her kind are waiting to court her, and you're just sitting here drinking tea and admiring flowers with no sense of crisis? Go get her now!!!"

After God of War Batman was ushered away, Thomas and Martha quickly returned, and next up was Lightning Batman.

Lightning Batman recounted the experiment that led to his outcome and how he had studied time to go back to the past and ultimately killed Barry and merged with him.

"Why did you want to go back to the past so much?" Thomas asked. Of course, everyone knew he didn't want to hear an answer like, "I just wanted to revive my parents," as all present knew that Batman wouldn't be so obsessively fixated for such a simple reason.

After all, there was more than one Batman capable of studying time, but he was the only one who actually did it.

"The movie that night..." Lightning Batman said, "the movie I wanted to see wasn't being shown. I thought we could come back another day, but you both thought maybe this one wouldn't be too bad."

"I was dissatisfied, but still stayed. However, the movie was so boring that halfway through, I made a fuss to leave and ran out of the theater, ending up in that alleyway."

"You both followed me out to catch up, and just then we encountered the assassin lying in wait."

Thomas and Martha didn't immediately respond after hearing this. They exchanged glances, clearly each recalling what had happened that night, but such memories led nowhere as the story in their universe had unfolded differently.

Nevertheless, they could infer the reasons behind the actions of their counterparts in another universe based on their own experiences.

"We probably knew about the assassin," Martha said. "We knew once we entered the theater, we couldn't leave because someone was out there dealing with the threat, and we had to wait until they were done."

"But we never imagined that movie wouldn't be shown that day, and Little Bruce ran out. Knowing there was an assassin, that's exactly why we chased after you."

Thomas took Martha's hand and said, "Thank goodness..."

"Yes, thank goodness we chased after you."
