After Ultron disintegrated the monster that had raced past in Superman's Psychic_Battlefield, both White Can and Iron Man had no choice but to leave Superman's Psychic_Battlefield and return to the real world. Back in reality, they used technological means to track Ultron's movements.
They were more concerned about Ultron, but Superman was more worried about Batman. The first thing he did upon returning to reality was to find Batman's charred body, which left him distraught.
However, he soon heard Batman's faint voice, "Stop crying. Take me back to the Batcave; I can still be saved."
Snap back to his senses, Superman quickly took the body back to the Batcave. Since technical methods were required, both White Can and Iron Man also followed him there.
The body was placed into the experiment pod, Batman's consciousness was reuploaded, and then he operated the machinery to repair his own body.
Although White Can and Iron Man were indeed eager to find Ultron, they could not refuse watching Batman's experiment up close.
Especially since the field of the experiment was their expertise. Because the prior damage to the body was too severe, and could not be saved with biological technology, Batman had no choice but to mechanically reconstruct 80% of his body.
Everything was going smoothly, as the Batcave had plentiful materials and equipment for Batman to utilize fully, but soon, some jarring voices began to distract from the work.
"How could this guy make joints like this? Are you sure they won't fly off? Hydraulic pumps, what kind of outdated technology is that?"
"I take back what I said about Batman's aesthetic sense. Tsk, tsk, the design of this chest cavity is a complete disaster, and the shape of the skull is not perfect at all. If I had to live in a body like this, my anxiety would be incurable."
"Look, he actually plans to use a flat-footed support structure. Doesn't he know human foot structure isn't efficient enough? Is he preparing this body for a walking contest?"
"I've said it before, Batman actually..."
"Clark!"
Clark's Death Stare made White Can and Iron Man shut up. Before shutting up, Iron Man added, "I'm just suggesting not to use this type of foot structure. No robot would accept only being able to jump two meters high."
Then he gestured with his hand that he would say no more.
The atmosphere in the room quieted down for a moment before Batman finally said, "Then you guys do it."
All three widened their eyes. Clark turned his head to look at the computer screen, speaking as if he didn't recognize Batman, "What did you say? Batman, you want those two to make your body?? You..."
Batman suddenly disappeared from view.
"I bet Batman is doing this out of spite," White Can clicked his tongue and commented, "How grown up... To still be..."
"You're one to talk about him?" Iron Man retorted irritably, "You're the master of holding grudges. Should I remind you how you made Pepper so angry?"
"But you didn't have the skills to comfort her either."
"Because I am you, what you can't do, I obviously can't do either."
"Thanks for reminding me, that's just like Tony Stark."
The two of them snorted coldly at the same time and moved to opposite ends of the experiment table, clearly planning to take over the halfway done repair work.
As expected, when the reconstruction reached the halfway point, the two of them erupted into a fierce argument, mainly over the direction of the reconstruction.
"You traitor, you have betrayed mechanical engineering for biological science, this is heresy. You should change your last name to Osborn, not Stark!" Iron Man accused.
"Some people are complacent, refusing to innovate, not even understanding the principles of the Symbiotic Battle Armor before preaching. Who's the real antiquated one?"
"Yeah, you're so trendy now, selling human bodies, modifying viruses for profit. Should I tell you how Pepper cussed you out for half an hour in her office?"
"Do you think she's never sworn at you for half an hour? We are both Tony Stark, you can't fool me!"
The two fell silent once more and got back to work. They quarreled a few more times after that, but each time it started with technical issues and ended with Pepper's issues. Whenever they touched upon Pepper and some black history related to her, both of them would run out of words.
The body was finally fixed despite the stumbling, and even though they kept arguing, they did manage to integrate their technical approaches.
In summary, White Can used the Symbiotic Factor extracted from his own Symbiotic Battle Armor to repair and modify the parts of Batman's body that were still usable, greatly enhancing muscle strength and endurance.
Iron Man completed the mechanical parts, replacing all the impractical and outdated components originally crafted by the monster with the most advanced ones. He also tried some new experiments with the materials from the Batcave with quite successful results.
Thus, the new Bat-Iron Body was born.
The strength of this brand-new body goes without saying, a perfect integration of flesh and machine. But while the body's problems were resolved, the psychological issues remained unsolved.
I mentioned before that the monster pretending to be Alfred directly deleted Batman's sadness and fear, turning him into a true killing machine.
Even memory deletion can cause enormous mental trauma for the human race, let alone the complete deletion of emotions. It was obvious that the monster wasn't trying to do a perfect job, so his methods were extremely crude, resulting in Batman's total loss of self-control.
That's why he would rather entrust his body to two strangers and quickly hide. More than death, he feared losing control.
Clark was outside, earnestly trying to persuade him, but clearly this wasn't something that could be resolved by persuasion alone. White Can sighed and said, "This problem is very troublesome, but it's not without a solution. It just so happens that I owe someone a favor and need to introduce some business to him."
Clark looked up at him, and White Can handed him a business card, saying, "This is the best psychologist I know, and there's also the most powerful psychic in that cosmos. The two of them working together should be able to solve Batman's problem."
Clark was dubious, but White Can said no more. He walked over to the machine and started tracking Ultron's signal.
Ultron had just followed Stark's lead into the network of David's psychic battlefield and entered the outpost base above Paris, acting as the intelligence hub. The reason was that Jarvis had to take care of Wanda, so Ultron came instead.
White Can quickly located Ultron, or rather, Ultron had no intention of hiding, so White Can borrowed the Doujie System and through the portal, he arrived in David's psychic world.
Since they couldn't leave their own cosmos for too long, Iron Man had already returned. Creating a new body for Batman had given him a lot of inspiration, so he also planned to go back and craft a new mechanical body for himself.
White Can brought Clark and Batman, who was still unwilling to go online and hiding inside the mechanical body, into David's psychic world.
No sooner had they landed than they saw a little girl in a pink dress running down the street.
Clark immediately gave chase, calling out as he ran, "Hey, little girl, don't run on the road like that! It's dangerous! Where are your family?"
White Can slapped his forehead; in his assessment, Kryptonians were almost perfect, God's capstone creation. But if there was one flaw, it was that their great power came with a lack of cunning.
When they had landed, they all saw that the city was not right, yet the first reaction to seeing a little girl running was that she was lost. White Can had no words for that and suddenly felt that Batman's silence was golden.
Seeing that Clark hadn't come back for a while, White Can hurriedly followed. Batman was trailing behind him, at this point only maintaining basic motor functions, essentially in auto-follow mode.
Rushing to the street, they found Clark weakly leaning against a wall, gasping for breath.
White Can was astonished. How strong was this little girl to exhaust Superman like this?
Clark held out his hand and said, "Don't, don't go near her. She can trigger people's emotions. The moment I got close to her, I remembered... Never mind, it's nothing."
As Clark turned around, White Can saw that he was in tears.
Then White Can felt a gaze, solid as substance, shooting from behind. Both he and Clark turned around to see Iron Batman make his move.
In an instant, the dark form soared into the air, with red-lit eyes rapidly locking onto the target.
Whoosh—!
The roar of the engine was like a primitive growl, and the sunlight on the street was suddenly obscured. A shadow fell at the end of the street, and as the little girl in the pink dress turned her head, all she saw was a pair of mechanical eyes full of murderous intent.
"Ah!!!!"
She let out a sharp shriek, her eyes gleaming cunningly as she fully activated her ability, certain the vulnerable figure before her would immediately burst into tears.
But just as her ability triggered, the little girl froze. She couldn't sense any emotion from the other side—no sadness, no fear, nothing at all.
"This can't be!!" She cried out as she stepped back, "How can you possibly have no..."
She was incredulous because even if the other party was a robot, she could influence the robot's controller by following the control waves. But she felt no brainwaves being emitted from the other party, as blank as a sheet of paper.
The terrifying robot drew closer and grabbed the little girl by the neck, lifting her up.
"Stop!!!!"
Two shrill voices rang out in unison. Clark and a portly woman named Sarah rushed over.
Sarah, thinking Clark was going to help Batman fight the little girl, suddenly leaped, colliding with Clark—and was sent flying by the impact.
Clark was momentarily halted by her collision, unable to stop Batman in time. Susan, the little girl mentioned by the portly woman Sarah, slowly disappeared in Batman's grip.
Batman looked down, seeing only a strand of long, blonde hair on his left hand.
