Doctor Schiller was in his office, looking somewhat helplessly at a group of people sprawled all over the place.
"We've tried all sorts of methods," Charles said, "but the abilities of those mutants are just too unbreakable, and they even coordinate with each other. Thankfully, they can't come to the real world, otherwise everything would be over."
"Doctor Schiller, we really need to think seriously about what to do," Wanda said, holding her stomach. "If they actually come to the real world, the disaster they cause would be devastating."
"They are stronger than any enemy I've encountered," Riley said.
"Alright, you've all worked hard these past few days. There are empty single rooms in the hospital ward where you can rest. Leave the work to us now."
Doctor Schiller was flipping through a thick stack of documents, which was the intelligence gathered by the Mind Assault Squad, composed of young superheroes, repeatedly entering the Legion's psychic battlefield over the past few days.
"I'm not tired, I think I can keep going," Charles said. "As a participant, I believe I at least have the right to witness the resolution of the events."
"I'm not very reassured," Wanda said. "I must make sure this guy doesn't actually enter the real world; I can't let him affect my future life."
"Even if you gave me leave, I couldn't go back to sleep," Riley said. "Spider Man is working on an urgent contingency plan for this, and I need to go to a meeting. After all, if a disaster really does break out, it will affect more than just our cosmos."
"Okay then, you can wait here for a while."
"I heard that the Luminous Alliance's forward base has already been set up?" Charles asked.
Just as Doctor Schiller was about to nod, Jarvis hurried over and said, "The line connection has been tested and is ready; if all goes well, we should be able to see the surveillance footage very soon."
Doctor Schiller nodded, and at that moment, his Battleworld communicator started ringing off the hook. He had to say goodbye to everyone in the room and went to another room to answer the call.
The moment the communication was connected, Ultron's screams came from the other end, "Doctor Schiller! Conspiracy!! A huge conspiracy!! Someone is stirring things up!!!"
"Calm down, explain it in detail," Doctor Schiller sat down on a chair and crossed his legs, speaking in a calm and unhurried manner, "Start from the beginning."
Ultron didn't bother with the inefficient method of speaking; he directly sent Doctor Schiller a data packet which, of course, was accompanied by some explanation.
He first briefly described what he had done in this cosmos, but the focus was on the result.
Ultron didn't expect that Batman, who knew about Superman, would directly invade Superman's psychic space. According to his analysis of Battleworld's video data, Batman usually wouldn't act so rashly.
But since he was already there, Ultron wouldn't pass up this opportunity. This was Batman, after all, and one who seemed to have lost his intelligence at that. If he could absorb his psychic entity, wouldn't he be able to fully unlock his own wisdom skill tree in one fell swoop?
It so happened that the powerful Superman also found this Batman-like creature distasteful, increasing the pressure inside the psychic space, so all Ultron had to do was decode and absorb at ease. Thus, Ultron began to systematically decrypt the controlled psychic entity of the Evil Batman.
His target was initially Batman's wisdom, but after dissecting the creature, Ultron realized something was off. The entity contained only a small amount of Batman; most of it was an unknown substance controlled by a certain brainwave, a large mass of energy.
Ultron didn't know what it was; he even thought it was a dll file that came with Batman.exe, so he started to decode that as well.
And this decoding led to trouble. The creature had a built-in data packet which, once decoded, turned out to be a conspiracy plan linking several universes.
According to the information Ultron obtained, the cosmos he was currently in was the last stop for this brainwave-controlled mass of energy. The previous universes included ones with Batman and The Flash, a female Batman, Batman fighting Ares, Batman severing ties with Superman, and Batman who turned into Green Lantern.
The being's earliest memories and data were damaged, so its origins were unclear, but the first documented universe showed it lurking in a test machine, witnessing a dispute between Batman and The Flash.
In short, using its own energy, the entity altered the results of certain test data. Ultron didn't fully understand the technical parts, but it seemed to be related to the theory of time matrices, perhaps testing how time jumps could be performed, and whether it was possible to change past events through time travel.
```
Ultron had come into contact with the Time Management Bureau, and he knew that this apparatus was a paradox in itself. The immense energy required for time jumping could lead even if one successfully brought back the intended target through time travel, it was very possible that afterward the cosmos would suffer an energy deficit and as a result be destroyed, killing both individuals involved.
However, this peculiar substance appeared to have given Batman a definitive answer; it had tampered with the experimental results, telling Batman that success was certain. Ultron saw the keyword 'Divine Speed' within it, and he speculated that the substance was telling Batman through the experimental results that with a certain something, he could succeed.
Sure enough, Batman and The Flash got into an argument, with The Flash denying the conclusion, but Batman didn't believe him.
Perfect, Ultron thought, making good use of Batman's psychological weakness. Batman always, forever, stubbornly trusted his own experimental results more.
The next part saw Ultron staring in shock as Batman had actually strapped The Flash to the treadmill, then tied him to the car and crashed into the Divine Speed. Now, with both men churned together by the Divine Speed, Lightning Batman was born.
In the next cosmos, this individual hid inside a meteor, simultaneously using its own energy to change the meteor's composition, transforming part of it into a metal with peculiar material properties.
Ultron didn't fully understand the precise principle, but in any case, the power amplified by this metal would also take on the properties of this strange substance's energy, meaning it definitely wasn't anything good—it could twist the psyche of living beings, making them more irritable and aggressive.
When this meteor entered the atmosphere, it split in two, one piece falling into the sea and becoming part of Atlantis's energy core, with its energy and corrupted nature spreading throughout Atlantis via the energy conduits.
The other piece fell into Egypt and ultimately ended up in Batman's hands, becoming the core component of some enhancement machine.
As a result, the Atlanteans, contaminated by the pollution, became more belligerent. The Queen was affected too, believing Batman had gone mad and would eventually threaten Atlantis, so she had no choice but to lead her Legion to negotiate with Batman.
The third stop for this substance was the Divine Realm of another universe, where it also transformed itself into a celestial metal, falling into the hands of a God skilled in forging. Later, it came into the possession of Ares.
This cosmos was in constant warfare, and Batman believed it was related to Ares. A great battle ensued between the two forces, and although Batman was merely a mortal, he still applied considerable pressure on Ares. So, he forged the metal into a helmet.
Although this helmet could magnify a person's strength, it also polluted their spirit. After Ares put it on his head, he lost almost all of his sanity. In the end, Wonder Woman defeated Ares, and the helmet fell into Batman's hands.
In the next cosmos, Superman became the target of this entity. Likewise, a meteor crashed inside the Fortress of Solitude. Superman didn't find the metal within it but simply used it as an ornament.
This bundle of energy continually polluted Superman's mind, until he began to take extreme actions. Batman couldn't accept what Superman was doing, so he refined the old Doomsday Virus and injected it into himself.
In the last cosmos, this energy hid inside a Green Lantern Ring, corrupting all the power within it, affecting Batman who acquired this power with mental pollution, making him extremely twisted and evil.
Looking over this sequence of events, it's not hard to see that the nature of this energy is quite fixed, inherently carrying a dark, malevolent attribute, and it has a special attack bonus against the mind, easily polluting the psyche of intelligent life forms.
But the problem was that apart from this energy, there was also a very peculiar radio wave. Because Ultron's very essence was also in the form of radio waves, he didn't dare to decode it for fear of being polluted as well.
He even refrained from uploading the energy and radio waves to the Battleworld's channel. Instead, after adding various protections and compressions, he took the package back to Doctor Schiller's Tower of Thought.
"I really have to thank you," Doctor Schiller said with his hands on his hips, looking at Ultron on one floor of the Tower of Thought. "Knowing full well that this thing is a bomb, you still hurriedly deliver it to me. You truly are a good Butler."
"If this thing really is a bomb, I'm afraid you're the only one who could defuse it," Ultron sighed. "If you can't defuse it, just throw it down the hole; it can't be more dangerous than the stuff down there already."
"I'll thank you on their behalf," Schiller said as he began to circle around and examine the encryption-protected orb.
Although he was mentally prepared, when the last layer of compression was released and the mass of black and red energy appeared before his eyes, along with a gaping maw full of fangs, Schiller couldn't help but cover his forehead.
But soon, Schiller noticed something else within the energy, as the black energy dissipated, something emerged—
Against a black backdrop, in red letters, in uppercase: "SEND MY REGARDS TO DOCTOR ANATOLI!"
